I had the privilege of making a bridal bouquet for an exceptionally talented local artist and teacher Carrie Brooks. She happens to be my lovely friend Katie Brooks Hansen’s sister. Carrie Brooks made an amazing Veterans Day display at lakeside last year. She handmade clay poppies for all veterans she knew, tagged them with their names and made them part of the display. At Katie Brooks Hansen’s request, she honored me with one of the poppies. I was a bit nervous arranging flowers for an artist known for her impeccable taste. Thankfully she thought I was precise in my floral interpretation of her vision. Attached are some pictures of her wedding day in December, 2021 and one of my poppy.

I am a mama to three girls. I learned how to arrange flowers, hoping one day I could arrange them for my daughters’ weddings! I had to wait for a long time to do so. Here is my eldest, Athena Marie Floyd and her best friend and husband Gary T Floyd on their big day! It was a joy to see them become a family!
