Please join us in celebrating our newest Wyman Leader graduate! 🎓

In 2024, Sandrea graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication and a double minor in Management and Marketing. Sandrea is now graduating from Southeast Missouri State with her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a certification in Trauma and Resilience.

Sandrea is a Wyman Leaders and Teen Outreach Program alum, and a dedicated volunteer on Wyman’s Alumni Committee.

Sandrea stays engaged because Wyman programs helped prepare her for the accomplishments she has already achieved and continues to pursue. She gained exposure to diverse experiences, learned to step outside her comfort zone, and built lasting relationships – including meeting her best friend, Talijah. As a member of the Alumni Committee, Sandrea’s reconnecting with her peers and encouraging them to re-engage, so the next generation can receive the same support and opportunities she did.

Sandrea is a trailblazer in her family as a first-generation college graduate! Sandrea is most proud of how she advocated and helped others be successful. Along with how she persevered through adversity. Sandrea is proud to graduate debt free. She aims to use both degrees supporting growth and success. We are extremely proud of Sandrea and can't wait to see what she does next. Congratulations Sandrea!

Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges teens face today and connection is one of the most powerful solutions. 🧡

Many teens are navigating stress, anxiety, and isolation during a critical stage of development. When they have strong, supportive peer relationships, their mental health and overall well-being improve.

That’s why Wyman’s Teen Connection Project (TCP) exists. Through small, interactive group experiences, TCP helps teens:
✔ Build meaningful friendships
✔ Practice communication, trust, and empathy
✔ Feel seen, valued, and supported
✔ Strengthen coping skills and overall well-being

Delivered through 12 engaging lessons, TCP gives teens what every young person deserves: connection, belonging, and hope.

Your support helps make these life-changing experiences possible for teens in schools and communities across the country.

Big news for youth mental health - and for Missouri kids. 💙

The Youth Mental Health Corps is expanding to Missouri and 15 other states this year, bringing new energy and partnerships to support proactive mental health for young people. Through ServMissouri, young people in Missouri will be able to serve as near-peer mental health supporters in their schools and their communities. This means more opportunities to reach young people early before challenges become crises.

We’re excited to see national investment in approaches like this that strengthen youth wellbeing and support Missouri’s young people where they live and learn.

We've been selected to join — a first-of-its-kind initiative where almost 1,000 young adults have served in schools and communities, building careers in behavioral health while supporting their peers. Proud to bring this work home.

“Missouri is proud to celebrate ServMO joining the Youth Mental Health Corps to help strengthen youth mental health support across our state and build the next generation of behavioral health professionals,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “Expanding access to mental health resources for our young people is critical to ensuring a stronger, healthier future for our state.”

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the power of connection.

Meaningful relationships are essential to well-being, and young people deserve to feel supported, seen, and reminded that they are not alone. When we share our stories with teens and with our broader community, we help strengthen that message and foster connection.

As NAMI shares, “Every story shared turns silence into connection, and connection into healing.”

We encourage you to explore NAMI’s Mental Health Awareness Month resources and learn how to get involved in your community:

This week, we're excited to be featured on the United Way of Greater St. Louis's The Power of United Impact Podcast! 🎙️

Our President & CEO Allison Williams joined the conversation to share how Wyman's programs are creating real, lasting impact for teens across our community, and why strong, consistent partnerships make that impact possible.

Allison and the United Way's CEO Michelle Tucker talk about what it takes to show up for young people in meaningful ways and how United Way’s ongoing support strengthens not only Wyman’s work, but the social safety net in our region.

We’re grateful to the United Way of Greater St. Louis for the partnership, the platform, and the belief in what’s possible when we invest together in young people.
