Listen closely and bare witness, fragile humans. The herald Hermes bestows us with a message!

The Dark Council is in need of 8 actors for “Greek Gods Gone Rogue”, a murder mystery dinner and fundraiser presented by Soroptimist International of Eureka on February 28th, 2026.

The gods are gathering for a great feast to decide the future of Olympus. The distribution of domain and divine power are at stake. But what begins as an attempt to “restore faith in the gods,” becomes a betrayal wrought with bloodshed! A Greek tragedy? How original… Can these mortals solve the mystery and save the fate of Olympus? Or will this ancient kingdom finally fall?

During the party, actors will be performing six short scenes. In between scenes, they will be asked to interact with guests and drop clues mid conversation. Be prepared to do lots of improv. Guests will then have to guess which character committed the murder with the information they have gathered. Actors will be given a character, background info, info on relationships to other characters, and some key information about the mystery to share while socializing with guests.

Auditions will be held via Zoom on February 7th. Applicants must be adults (18+). If cast, expect costumes to be slightly revealing. Roles are gender inclusive. Rehearsals will be held every Sunday in February (February 8th, 15th, and 22nd). Time and location TBD. All actors will be compensated $100.00.

“Panic at the Disco” was right down groovy, baby!! 🪩✨Fulfilling this birthday girl’s wish of being horrifically murdered in front of her friends, family, and loved ones was quite the honor. Thank you again for being the first of many victims to contract us for a murder mystery original. And CONGRATS to the lucky winner who was able to solve the mystery first!

What’s crackin’, all you stone cold foxes?

The Dark Council is in need of 3-4 actors for “Panic at the Disco”, a murder mystery being held on January 17, 2026 for a private event.

If you’ll believe it, the Council is putting on a disco themed party. But jeepers! Someone was MURDERED in the midst of all the boogie! Will the party guests be able to solve the mystery of what jive turkey dunnit? ‘Cause murder really ain’t groovy. Ya dig?

During the party, actors will perform one to two short scenes and then be asked to interact with guests, dropping clues in conversation. Be prepared to do lots of improv. Guests will then have to guess which character committed the murder with the information they have gathered. Actors will be given a character, background info, info on relationships to other characters, and some key information about the mystery to share while socializing with guests.

Actors must be adults (18+). Roles are NOT dependent on gender. All actors will be compensated $100.00. Food, drink, and a no host bar will also be provided. Actors are welcome to stay and party after the mystery has resolved.

We’re really excited to share something a little different this time around — a radio play called Crumbs at Midnight, airing *TONIGHT* Christmas Eve at 5PM on KHUM. 104.3 & 104.7 FM and online at KHUM.com
Written by David Templeton, brought to KHUM by Jordan, and voiced by local voice actor Pat Foran along with some of our favorite local talent from across Lost Coast Communications — including some voices you’ve probably heard on KHUM, KSLG, KWPT, and The Lounge.

This play was produced with a lot of love, a healthy dose of last-minute chaos, and a whole lot of storytelling magic.

It’s our gift to the community, and we hope you’ll tune in.

To all the artists, engineers, DJs, and listeners who helped make this happen — thank you. You keep the storytelling going, and we’re lucky to be part of that.

2025 is coming to an end and we can’t help reminisce about this year’s haunt. Thank you to all of the vendors, performers, and volunteers who made this event possible. From auditions, to build, to dress, to open, to close, to strike, you all were phenomenal from start to finish. We couldn’t have done it without you. And thank you to everyone who came and experienced this beautiful work of art. Your support means everything to us. The council already has plenty brewing for the upcoming year.
