TUNE IN Originally from SF, CA has recently returned to the bay area settling in gorgeous Eureka many years of performing in NYC. Playing her flute she perfo
rmed with Vision Walker (of Bob Marley & the Wailers), rappers Kosha Dillz & C-Rayz Walz. DJs: Joa Kin, Oja, Queen Mab, Polywog, Willow from Paris, Marz and the groups Dread Daze, Dusky Diana & Community Edu. She recorded with producers: APlus, BukueOne, BorgoeBeats, Charlie G. (Rhythmatik), Perl & Porto, Kentron the Mighty Mastadon, MekzOne, Julian Brooks (Temper Twinz, Mod Squad), Soundscannerz (Snoop, Kokane, Angie Stone). Adina released her first official song entitled "THE TWINS" (produced by Rythmatik/Charlie G.) on C-Rayz Walz' album "Who the F% are You?" in Feb 2008. She's been recording and performing on and off, with an instrumental release in 7/2010 called "Emotions" (prod. by Rhytmatik) on C-Rayz Walz Benefit Album entitled "Beat The System". She composed, arranged and produced the soundtrack for an e-book entitled "Legacy of the Cross". Irie Adina performed in NYC - playing reggae and hip hop flute w bands and dj's at NYC's hotspots.She also performed at the opening the Venetian Hotel & Casino in 2007 in Macau, China playing classical, opera & jazz & a little singing. Her years of formal training in classical and jazz, blends well with her life-experience in the reggae, dub, ska, hip-hop, house, latin, electronic and rock realms. She calls her improvisational way of playing as "freestyling". Her sound has been described as "mesmerizing, (Snake) charming, relaxing and inspiring." Irie Adina also teaches flute to all ages and skill levels, and enjoys playing classical, jazz and contemporary songs for weddings & celebrations. She is currently working on her first solo album. In the meantime, she loves spinning roots, rock and reggae on Thursdays and Sundays from 7-9pm on 106.7 The Edge. Be sure to tune in this week!
