We are saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Koziel of Erie, PA. He passed away this past Wednesday at the age of 74.

Bob was the long time trumpet player of the MarVels in Erie, PA for over 50 years. He and his wife Alice had a polka show on Sunday mornings from 9am until Noon over WMCE 88.5FM. They’ve been on radio in Erie for 37 years.

Our deepest condolences go out to his beloved wife Alice & his entire family.

The IPA is sorry to hear that 2023 IPA Hall of Famer, Li'l John Nalevanko passed away this weekend. We send our condolences and prayers to the entire Nalevanko family. Li'l John was a mainstay in Western PA for his polka radio shows, leader of his own band and he constantly bringing in Polka Bands to Western PA. He will definitely leave a void in Western PA. We will post the information about his obituary when we have it.

It is with a heavy heart to announce that Major Mel Himes, long time polka DJ from Erie, PA, passed away last night due to sepsis caused by an untreated shoulder infection. He was 66 years old......one month shy of what would have been his 67th birthday. (June 11th)

Our deepest condolences go out to his girlfriend Kristine, and his entire family. In accordance with his final wishes, he will be cremated. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
