✨ Let's Talk About Uneven Wedding Parties! ✨
One of the things I hear all the time from couples is:
💬 "She has 6 bridesmaids, but I only have 3 groomsmen, so we're just going to do 3 on each side to keep it even." Or the other way around!
Here's your reminder: Your wedding party doesn't have to match!
If you've always dreamed of having your sisters, cousins, best friends, or lifelong friends standing beside you on your wedding day, don't leave someone out just because the numbers don't match. Your wedding party should be about the people who have supported you, not about creating perfect symmetry.
The good news? There are SO many ways to make an uneven wedding party look intentional and beautiful:
🤍 Have two bridesmaids es**rt one groomsman (or vice versa).
🤍 Let wedding party members walk down the aisle individually.
🤍 Mix the lineup instead of pairing everyone together.
🤍 Alternate bridesmaids and groomsmen across the front instead of standing on separate sides.
🤍 Have the maid of honor and best man stand closest to you, with the remaining attendants seated after the processional.
🤍 Have siblings or close friends es**rt parents or grandparents down the aisle.
🤍 Have ushers or readers fill in the processional if you want balanced entrances.
🤍 Skip paired entrances at the reception—introduce everyone individually instead.
🤍 Pair attendants with family members, flower girls, or ring bearers.
🤍 Have a junior bridesmaid or junior groomsman join the processional.
🤍 Stagger the lineup by height instead of by pairs for a more natural look.
🤍 Take group photos that aren't perfectly symmetrical—candid, relaxed wedding party photos are some of the most beautiful anyway!
🤍 Remember that your photographer can pose everyone in ways that make the group look balanced, regardless of the numbers.
And here's a little homework... 😉 Search "uneven bridal party photos" on Pinterest or Google. You'll quickly see that uneven wedding parties are photographed beautifully. Honestly, most of the time you don't even notice the difference!
At the end of the day, your wedding isn't about making the numbers match. It's about celebrating with the people who have loved, supported, and shaped your journey.
Don't let "keeping it even" be the reason someone important isn't standing beside you on one of the biggest days of your life. ❤️
✨ Did you have an uneven wedding party, or are you planning one? We'd love to hear what you decided!
