Earlier this month, I created a video raising awareness about visa fraudsters posing as visa agents. In that video, I broke down key red flags to watch out for so you donā€™t become their next victim.
Just a week later, VeryDarkMan (VDM) released a related video exposing a fraudulent visa agent who reportedly scammed over 300 Nigerians, collecting more than half a billion naira by charging individuals between ā‚¦1.5M and ā‚¦6M imagine that.
Calling these fake agents out is important, but itā€™s not enough if you donā€™t understand whatā€™s actually required to obtain a visa yourself. Awareness without knowledge still leaves you vulnerable.
I strongly advise you to go back and watch and share this and the previous video I made on this topic for a deeper breakdown and practical guidance.

Itā€™s heartbreaking to see that a hardworking Nigerian saves for years, sacrificing everything to chase a dream abroad only to have it stolen by a fraudulent visa agent.

This keep happening because many donā€™t know the process, the fear of ā€œbad belleā€ keeps people them silent. And wonā€™t ask friends/neighbors for advice until theyā€™ve already been scammed. šŸ¤

The ā€œMiracle Visaā€ Trap: People are so desperate for a testimony that they ignore and care less to know the actual purpose of the visa they are paying for.

If youā€™ve already paid ā‚¦5M without seeing a single authentic document from your agent, you arenā€™t paying for a visa youā€™re funding a scammerā€™s lifestyle. šŸ’ø

I will not advice you use an agent but again I donā€™t strictly forbid it (some processes are genuinely complex), but you MUST be one step ahead of them. Knowledge is your only shield. šŸ›”ļø

You need to know your ā€œWhyā€
ā€¢ Study Visa: Requires admission letters and proof of funds.
ā€¢ Work Visa: Requires a valid job offer or sponsorship license.
ā€¢ Visitor/Tourist Visa: Required invitation/ intinary and know itā€™s For short stays; you cannot legally work on this!

If your agent canā€™t provide the authentic paperwork for any of the above categories with receipt of any money he paid on your behalf just walk away and start asking for your money šŸš¶ā€ā™‚ļø

Whether your visa is Approved or Denied, you must demand the printout of the information your agent submitted to the embassy.
Why? Because it helps you to know if your agent made a mistake in putting down your information at the embassy, also if you ever need to reapply for visa, the embassy will check your new info against the old info so youā€™ll not be flagged for ā€œinconsistencyā€ or fraud. For some selfish reason most Nigerian agents hide this from you so youā€™ll always be dependent on them.

Donā€™t let the fear of your ā€œvillage peopleā€ stop you from seeking the right information. Silence might keep your secret, but it wonā€™t save your money so speak out before you get scammed.

Nigerians are often too quick to blame the government, the devil, or ā€œvillage people,ā€ while taking zero accountability. The reactions Iā€™ve seen regarding the Anthony Joshua accident show that we still have a long way to go as a people. We cannot think like this as a nation and expect progress.

With my years of experience in the trucking industry, having traveled across all 48 continental U.S. states and countless cities, I can confidently say Iā€™ve seen trucks parked on roadways many times. When done properly and outside no parking zones, it is not illegal. Trucks may park on the roadside for many legitimate reasons: breakdowns, mandatory rest, dispatch delays, road closures, or emergencies.

Accidents can happen anywhere, to anyone. Princess Diana, Paul Walker, Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), and even our own Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, former CEO of Access Bank, were all involved in tragic accidents. These incidents remind us that life is unpredictable not everything is conspiracy or sabotage.

If we truly want Nigeria to be great, it will take collective responsibility. Progress starts when each of us plays our part with honesty, accountability, and maturity as patriotic citizens.
