One year ago today, August 14, our lives were turned completely upside down. Cannot believe it has been one year since we lost our friend and Vice President, Matthew Keenan, in an automobile accident. His absence is truly felt every single day. We miss him tremendously.

The 5th Allegheny County Parks Holiday Drive In Laser Show continues all weekend through December 23. The 2024 show consists of new songs, sing-alongs, and some traditional favorites that have become popular over the years.

Allegheny County Parks has truly done a tremendous job of providing affordable and accessible holiday entertainment for entire families to enjoy together. We are so proud to be part of it.

Tickets are $30 per vehicle as opposed to many experiences that charge by person. You can bring your own food and drink so as not to be stuck paying expensive concession prices.

This experience is also accessible to anyone who can travel in a car. We have had a few participants thank us when they see us because it is the only holiday experience they are able to attend with their families.

Thank you Allegheny County Parks for making this possible and entrusting us to provide this experience.

Last Friday, November 1, was an inspiring and emotional day for EOP.

We put on our first laser show since the unexpected and tragic death of our business partner and Vice President, Matthew Keenan, who we lost in an auto accident this August.

It meant a lot to us to bring some cheers for America, along with a quick trip down memory lane, as part of the Jacksonville North Carolina Government Red, White, and Salute Veterans Day Celebration.

There are many new faces and a few familiar ones at EOP since we lost Matt. It brought tears to some of our eyes to see the entire staff, some of whom never Matt, honor his legacy, keep his EOP dream alive, and execute a professional laser show of which he would have been very proud.

We now look forward to spreading Christmas and holiday happiness, with our next show at Carteret County Speedway starting November 22, and running two weekends through December 1, before heading off to Pittsburgh, PA, Plymouth, NC, and Wi******er, VA.

Matt, thank you for everything you did to get EOP to this point over the last decade. We will forever miss you dearly —- and we got it from here!

Last evening we were supposed to be having a Neon Nights 5K Fun Run and Dance Party at Carteret County Speedway to benefit the IW Crystal Coast (Irreverent Warriors). The event was postponed due to the sudden loss of our Vice President, Matthew Keenan.

We went to the speedway to tell anyone who showed up that did not get the message.

While there, we took more notice of the sign "Keeping the Dream Alive" that is proudly displayed at the speedway. This quote is very visible in honor of Bobby Watson, whose vision and dream brought the sport of racing to the Crystal Coast.

Sitting with no one there, we thought to ourselves that we now have a person as well for whom we want to keep the EOP dream alive. And then we thought how many of us have a loved one that is gone for whom we try to keep a dream alive? We would imagine a lot of us do.

At some point, we want to have a meaningful gathering/event to give encouragement to keep our visions and our dreams alive, even in seemingly impossible circumstances. How often do people quit on their dreams because they feel they have no support and can't do it alone? And we each only get one life -- there is no next time if we quit.

Yet, if we all support each other in our dreams --- we firmly believe, more of our dreams will stay alive and become real. Because in some cases we truly can't do it alone.

TWO SEPTEMBER EVENTS at Carteret County Speedway RESCHEDULED DUE TO TRAGEDY WITHIN EMERALD OWL PRODUCTIONS:

Our scheduled September 7 & September 11 events at the Carteret County Speedway will be rescheduled.

Emerald Owl Productions continues to mourn the unexpected loss of our Vice President and chief laser technician, Mr. Matthew Keenan. The world lost Matthew on August 14 in an auto accident on Route 39 near Bunn, North Carolina when another vehicle inexplicably crossed the center line and entered into Matt’s lane.

Matt shared the dream and the vision of what EOP can one day become and wanted to be part of it in anyway possible. Matt will always be part of EOP. We will never forget him and we will forever miss him. Thank you Matt. We love you!

IMPACT ON SEPTEMBER EVENTS:

Matt was slated to be the laser technician for two September events at the Carteret County Speedway. We had hoped to possibly find a replacement, however, due to the timing of the accident, this proved to not be possible.

All parties involved decided it would be in the best interest of both events to reschedule them to a time when the events can be properly managed and executed.

The two events that are being rescheduled include:

September 7: Neon Nights 5K Fun Run & Dance Party
(A Fundraiser for the IW Crystal Coast , Irreverent Warriors)

September 11: A Tribute to 9/11

Emerald Owl Productions mourns the sudden, unexpected, and tragic loss of our friend, Vice President, and head laser technician, Mr. Matthew Keenan. The world lost Matthew in an auto accident on Route 39 just outside of Bunn, North Carolina on Wednesday, August 14 when another vehicle crossed the center line and entered into Matt's lane.

While it is often cliché to say that a person is irreplaceable, this is 100% true with Matt. The amount of passion, time, creativity, and energy he put into EOP is immeasurable. A parent coming up to thank him for making a kid smile with a laser or fog cart meant the world to him.

He shared the dream of what we believe EOP can one day become and wanted to be part of it in every way possible. Matt will always be a part of EOP. We will never forget him and will forever miss him. Thank you Matt. We love you!
