The company is based in Emerald Isle, North Carolina and has representatives in Asheville, Piedmont Triad, Raleigh, and Eastern North Carolina. As of May, 2017 a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office was opened in West Mifflin. We will provide a show for any occasion and will make it age appropriate. We have three divisions:

1) Professional

- These are professional quality events, typically on a large scale, perfect for towns, cities, private business, festivals, weddings, and universities. We customize a light show to fit your needs and take your event to an entirely new level. We can provide professional laser shows, lighting, sound, and DJ services at your event.

2) Fundraising

This is designed specifically for schools, churches, and other organizations who typically could not budget for a professional event. By charging a percentage after your event is over, this is completely risk free financially to the customer. Not only do you pay after the event, your profits will be higher than average fundraisers.

3) Small Party

This is designed for individuals or events that have a smaller budget. All packages in this division are under $1,000 and some are even in the $200-$300 range. These are great for birthday parties, graduations, or day time events when you have no need for professional lighting or lasers.

PART 3: Never underestimate what can happen when someone decides, “We want to help.” ❤️

What began with a group of middle-school students looking for a way to make a difference after September 11th became something none of them could have fully predicted.

One idea led to another.
Connections were made.
Partnerships were formed.
More people got involved.

And suddenly, something that started inside a school was reaching far beyond it.

In this part of the story, Mike reflects on just how much those students were able to accomplish—and how powerful it is to realize that you don’t have to be an adult, have a huge budget, or have everything figured out to create an impact.

Sometimes you just need people who care enough to begin.

That lesson has stayed with Mike throughout the years, and you can still see it in the philosophy behind Emerald Owl Productions today.

We are officially **THREE MONTHS away** from Opening Night of the **Holiday Drive-In Laser Show at North Park!** 🎶💚❤️

On **December 17**, the North Park Swimming Pool parking lot will once again light up for one of the Pittsburgh area’s most unique holiday traditions — bringing together **lasers, holiday music, and a little Christmas magic**, all from the comfort of your vehicle. 🚗✨

There’s something pretty incredible about watching a dark winter sky suddenly come alive with color, light, and music — and we can’t wait to help make it happen again this year.

PART 2: What makes an experience truly unforgettable? 🦉✨

In the days following September 11, 2001, a group of Mike’s middle school students came to him with a simple question:

“What can we do to help?”

That question eventually became a school dance marathon that Mike originally thought might last a year.

Instead, it lasted more than a decade.

But looking back, the money raised or the events themselves aren’t necessarily what stand out the most.

It’s what happened years later.

Former students would come back as adults, and within minutes, they would start talking about the dance marathon—something they experienced all the way back in middle school.

They remembered it. It mattered to them. It became part of their story.

And that is a big part of the vision behind Emerald Owl Productions today.

We don’t simply want to produce events.

We want to create the kind of experiences people are still talking about 10, 20, even 25 years later. ❤️

Experiences that bring people together.
Experiences that make a positive impact.
Experiences that become memories—and sometimes even new traditions.

✨ You see the lasers… but you don’t always see what it takes to make them look this good.

Creating an incredible outdoor laser show takes a whole lot more than pressing “play.” Laser beams need particles in the air to become visible, which means our fog & haze team plays a HUGE role in every show. 🌫️💚

Wind shifts. Terrain changes. Venues are different. And sometimes keeping that fog exactly where we need it turns into a full-on game of fog traffic control. 😂

While the audience is watching the sky, our crew is constantly moving, adjusting, watching the wind, and making sure those beams stay bright and beautiful.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs most people never think about — but without them, even the best-designed laser show wouldn’t have the same WOW factor.

Sometimes the biggest traditions start with one simple question: “How can we make a difference?” ❤️

Long before Emerald Owl Productions, Mike was a middle school counselor—and about 25 years ago, a group of students came to him wanting to do something that mattered.

What started with a few kids, an idea, and a desire to help others grew into something much bigger… bringing people together, raising money for important causes, and creating memories that would last for years.

And in a lot of ways, that same idea is still at the heart of what we do today at Emerald Owl Productions:

Create experiences. Bring people together. Make memories. Start traditions.

This is just the beginning of the story. 🦉✨

✨ Ever wonder why you can see lasers lighting up the sky from down the road… but you can’t actually experience the show from there?

There’s a lot more science behind a professional laser show than simply pointing lasers into the air. 👀

Laser shows are carefully designed around a specific viewing area. The positioning of the audience, angles of the beams, projection points, atmospheric effects and programming all work together to create the images, movement and immersive effects you see during the show.

So yes… someone standing outside your event might catch a few beams in the distance.

But the giant sweeping effects, patterns, imagery and those “HOW DID THEY DO THAT?!” moments?

👉 You need to be in the right place to see the show the way it was actually designed.

And for ticketed events, that’s a pretty nice bonus. 😉

August 14, 2024:

This will always and forever be a very tough day at EOP. If only we could go back and tell him to take a different route. If only we could go back for 5 seconds and tell him to leave 1 minute earlier or 1 minute later. Two years ago, we suddenly and tragically lost Matthew Keenan, our Vice President in a car accident in Franklin County, North Carolina.

His loss is still felt at every event, every time a piece of equipment makes that strange clicking noise, and every time a vehicle feels like it might be grinding a bit. Matt was our laser technician, asset manager, and mechanic. The value he brought to EOP has truly been irreplaceable. Don't ever let a company tell you that everyone is replaceable. It's simply not true. Sure, we have found ways to continue our dream, and his dream without his physical presence. And EOP has gotten through this terrible loss as a company and we are excited about what is ahead. But we will never ever be the same.

We miss you Matt. And that's all we can think to say on this day. We miss you.
