Well we are back from 252 Breese IL comp for CCBS and all I can say is wow and I mean wow! What a great comp this was a lot of fun Three Stooges BBQ Competition Team put on a little surprise for my dad’s 60th birthday! Very stacked teams this weekend to get a couple calls and walk away with a trophy was pretty exciting for us!! We definitely will be back next year there!!! This is how we did!

Chicken- 8th
Ribs- 3rd!!!!
Pork- 6th!
Brisket- 6th!

Overall- 7th!!!

Huge congratulations to our buddies three stooges on GC and Mess-in-a Round BBQ on RGC!!!! We will see everyone next weekend in Collinsville for smokin on Main!!

Wow what a busy month it has been. Just a recap a huge milestone has happened we were blessed to have hit 2 GCs. Never in a million years did we think we would win 2GC in a month. That was really cool! The coolest thing is our BBQ Family how they were excited for us! That’s why we absolutely love our bbq family! Well Bumpy Pickle can officially say we finished a whole month doing a comp every weekend! Thank god my wife supports me and lets me chase my goals thank you Well to end a 4 comp stretch in Irvington IL put on by our good buddy TJ Schaeffer that does an outstanding job putting this comp on!! We officially have a couple weekends off we will hit it again in breese,IL for CCBS 07/19. Well let’s go over how we did in Irvington.

Chicken- 8th!!
Ribs- 6th!!
Pork- 3rd!!!!

Overall- 8th!!!!

Hey this past weekend was a very strong group of very tough group to get a call there and walk away with a trophy was pretty cool especially with these tough guys there!! An extreme huge congratulations to pappy jacks on GC!!!!!!! Another huge congratulations to Smokin Shoes BBQ on RGC!! Congrats everyone else that heard your name call! See everyone in Breese!!

Well we are back from Iuka, IL for CCBS this was there first year putting this on and man what an amazing time they did a great job putting this on! We did finally get a comp this year where it DID NOT RAIN on us! It was hot but we had a nice breeze! You know the world of bbq you never know how it’s going to go. Every weekend every box it’s all in 6 judges hands. One weekend you might be in the top and one weekend you might be dead last. You give it your all and hope for the best! I do truly want to thank my wife for picking up the slack and still doing mom duties and letting me go to bbq comps and try and achieve my goals! I appreciate you very much I know it’s not easy! Well now the moment of truth how we did……

Chicken- 5th
Ribs- 1rst!!!!!!
Pork- 1rst!!!!!!! (My very first, 1rst place!!!!!)

Overall- GRAND CHAMPION!!!!!

Wow we are on cloud 9 we are very blessed to have won GC back to back! Never in a million years did we think we would do that it’s extremely hard to win once with the teams your up against but to do it twice??? So amazing!!!! Truly very blessed to do that. I do want to say the trophies were pretty cool too!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to thunder Q for his RGC with 3 comps under his belt (I Think) to RGC is pretty neat!!! And of course huge congrats to Mess-in-a round on 3rd Overall! Thanks for all your help and always great having you as a neighbor! Big shout out to Ryan with onlycans with his back to back GC for SLBS!!!! That is surreal!!! Congratulations to Burnt Crow on RGC!!!!

We will see you guys next weekend in Irvington, IL for CCBS looking forward to this one!!!

Well we are back from homestead cook in chesterfield, MO for SLBS Jim and buddy do an amazing job putting this event on! St. Louis BBQ Society is an extremely tough professional league. But hey won’t stop us from trying in the pro comps. We will be back next year in chesterfield! This is how we did….

Chicken- 6th!!!!!!
Ribs- 20th
Pork- 22nd
Brisket- 15th

Overall- 17th

Hey pro circuit is a different breed but we tried and to get a call in chicken in a pro comp for SLBS our very first call for them is pretty cool. Just have to keep practicing to get on there level! Next weekend we’re heading to Iuka, IL for CCBS huge congratulations to onlycans on GC and Wayde Reeder for RGC!!!

Bumpy Pickle BBQ attended Up in Smoke Off in Carlyle IL for CCBS. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend due to kids sports going on and my daughter’s 10th Birthday. All I want to say is though iam beyond proud of my dad to handle all 4 proteins by him self! Huge thank you who did help him out he appreciates it a lot. I know he was probably stressed usually we help each other calm our nerves. But man to get two call outs against very tough teams it’s really amazing! The team will be together June 7th in Salem IL. This is how we did!

Chicken: 9th

Pork: 3rd!!!!

Well as our bbq season has officially ended words can’t express how blessed and happy we are! We hit a couple of our goals we planned out for the beginning of the season! This was our first year ever chasing points for a society and can I tell you this was very stressful and hard against this crew towards the end and down to the wire for CCBS. We made a lot of great memories with our family in the CCBS community! Learned a lot from these guys as well! This is how Bumpy Pickle BBQ Competition Team did for the season in Clinton County BBQ Society!

Chicken: 11th for the year
Ribs: 4th for the year!!!!
Pork: 10th for the year!!!!
Team of year: 11th for the year!!!

These results mean a lot to us and thank you to everyone who supported us and gave us advice for this season. Thank you to my wife Amanda Leigh for supporting us and letting me go to achieve my goals I love you and appreciate you very much! We will see you guys in February at the awards banquet and see you in March when we kick off the season smoking on the Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship!

Well Bumpy Pickle BBQ Competition Team is back from hoyelton IL. We had a lot of fun at this comp. It was great seeing all our friends for probably our last comp of the season. Words can’t express how much pressure was on for this one with being close to the end of the season and chasing points everyone was giving their A game. My goal was to do good enough to make the top 10 of the year for pork and match my dad with his top 10 lists. Thank god I did good enough against these top teams that are extremely hard to beat. Pork gave me trouble the whole day but it managed to work in our favor this time

Chicken: 10th
Ribs: 14th
Pork: 2nd place!!!

Congratulations to OnlyCans Competition BBQ on GC 2 smokingJ’s on RGC and Three Stooges BBQ Competition Team on 3rd overall! Beyond happy for everyone else too. I will miss you all in the off season and will see you guys at award banquet. Marty Plute always a great time seeing you and hanging out with you and the stooges.

Well our first ever time in Pierron IL KCBS comp this was an amazing competition they did an amazing job putting on we was so impressed with it all! Had so much fun it was a blast! This is how Bumpy Pickle BBQ Competition Team did for the weekend!

Bumpy Pickle is back from Newton IL CCBS. My dad did it solo. I’m beyond proud of him! Hate missing it and seeing everyone but congratulations to everyone that got there names called.

Ribs- 1rst!!! With a perfect score!!! First time ever for us!
Pork- 12th
7th overall!!!

Sorry for the late post. We’re back from doing smokin for the kids in Troy,IL this past weekend. We had a lot of fun there. A ton of heavy hitters! Thank you Jesus for letting us get walk on that stage and hearing our names called twice. We will definitely do this comp again!

13th overall were still working on some things to get better. For all the top guys there we were pleased on to the next one
