Monday evening my beautiful, wonderful Mom Kim Ratledge Westra gained her wings and joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven. And although my family and I are heartbroken, we can’t help but to be grateful for the time that God gave us with her.

We are thankful for the love that she showered all of us with and knowing that there was never a day that went by that we didn’t know we were loved. We are thankful for the family she surrounded me, my brother and sister with so that we could help each other through this.

She was the 2nd generation that made this little Family business of ours what it is today. And I am so proud and honored to have learned under her and to follow in her footsteps

We love you and will miss you so so much. You were the best Mama anyone could have ever asked for.
And as you would say “It’s not goodbye, but see you soon”.
And what a beautiful day that will be.

I want to thank everyone who has reached out and the continued love and prayers that have been extended to me and my family. It has meant more to us than you’ll ever know.

The shop will be open today through the rest of the week.

Her funeral arrangements are still incomplete at this time, but will be in care of Elkin Funeral Service. I will post her obituary as soon as everything is finalized.

100% of the proceeds from this cocktail will be given to communities in Western NC and Eastern TN that were affected by hurricane helene. You can send us additional donations if you would like via Venmo or in person at Embers.

We will specifically focus the funds towards Avery County, NC and Roan Mountain, TN as that is where we grew up. We will post specifically where the money is going on our page and in our Instagram story as we donate.

We will continue to run this promotion for the foreseeable future. ❤️

This last year I have experienced what it’s like to plan a full on wedding. Up until that I had only known how much work planning the flower part was. Searching for the perfect venue, hiring caterers, bartenders and a photographer… it was a lot of work!
So two weeks ago, I married my best friend and in my eyes my wedding was everything I dreamed of!
I want to give so much thanks to the professionals who did an amazing job and that I would recommend to anyone who is getting married or for any kind of special event.
Thank you and a huge shout out to The Barn at Heritage Farm, Shew Ridge Photography (by Wendy) and Thirsty Buffalo Beverage Catering!! I couldn’t have done it without y’all!
Also and most importantly I want to brag on my Florist family Ratledge Florist. They have been with me every step of the way. My flowers were absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!!! Everything I imagined and more!! Thank y’all and I love you all! Gary McLellan Meagan Shaffer Katie, Annette and Olene.
And Yes, to everyone who asked me before hand… I did help do my own flowers 😊
