To My Friends, Clients & Supporters,
This message has taken me a lot of reflection to put into words, but today I need to share a big change. Effective immediately, Charcuterie by CJ will be taking a break from catering.
First, let me say how blessed and grateful I am for the last four years. I started this business at 19, during a difficult time in my life—and truthfully, Charcuterie changed my life. What began as a creative outlet grew into a community, a career, and a calling. I’ve had the privilege of serving so many amazing people, collaborating with incredible businesses, building friendships, and forming relationships that feel like family. For all the memories, support, and wisdom you’ve shared with me—I am forever thankful.
The reason for this decision is simple: I am ready to enjoy a slower pace of life. Recently, the phrase “the one thing in life you can’t get back is time” has hit me harder than ever. I’ve been so lucky to create for countless holidays, birthdays, and celebrations, but now I want to spend those moments fully present with my own friends and family.
Not long ago I read a quote:
“What a privilege to be tired from work you once begged the universe for. What a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. What a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose. What a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for.”
I’ve never read words that felt more true. Running this business has been my greatest privilege and inspiration—but I’ve also learned it’s okay to pause. Burnout is real, and rest matters. I share this because I hope to inspire other business owners: it’s okay to take breaks, to love yourself, and to put yourself first.
What this means:
• Charcuterie boards will still be available daily at Main Street Cellar for dine-in & pickup.
• We’ll soon have grab-and-go boards for walk-ins.
• If you have a gift card, please redeem by Nov. 1st (email [email protected]).
• If you already have an event confirmed, I will still be there as planned!
So while catering is pausing, the heart of what I love—wine, food, and community—lives on at Main Street Cellar in Olde Towne Elkhorn. I manage the space and you’ll find me there most days. If you haven’t yet, follow to keep up with what’s next. With a little more room to breathe, I’ve got some big ideas in the works—and I can’t wait to share them with you.
To Omaha and every single person who has supported me these past four years—thank you from the bottom of my heart. This journey has been the biggest blessing of my life, and I am truly so grateful.
With love & gratitude,
CJ
