Since wrapping the final auditorium event a couple weeks ago, our Technical Director decided there's just too much glitter, feathers, and confetti embedded everywhere... Only possible solution: GUT THE BACKSTAGE!

Will he put the dressing rooms back together? Maybe... but he may be leaning towards nothing but metal folding chairs, rolling costume racks, and bare concrete floors for easier cleanup going forward! 😝

ERHS Choir's Spring Cabaret concert is tomorrow night at 7pm, and is shaping up to be a spectacular night of music from our amazing students!

ALUMNI: For those that Mrs. Britton did not have updated contact information for, please be advised that we are changing things up a bit this year, but we are still inviting alumni up on stage to participate in the last song of the night! Plan on joining us to warm up (and practice a couple times) in the music room at 6:30... Also, we would like to start an Alumni e-mail list going forward, so please send us a Facebook message with your current e-mail address. If you do that soon, we can also send the sheet music and a YouTube video link to practice the song we'll be performing together!

We're not crying, you're crying... ok, most of us were crying at least a little... some of them a LOT... 🥹

We need to take a moment to acknowledge this young man... Although Roman has participated in several shows with us now, he has been rocking the bass guitar in our pit band prior to this year. This is his FIRST SHOW in the spotlight (well, 2 of them in this particular pic, haha), and he landed the lead role of Adam Pontipee! Not only did he earn the lead role, he absolutely CRUSHED IT, and the every show acts like he's done this 100 times! Hats off to Roman for an amazing run of performances, and being so humble and grateful throughout the entire process! We could not have pulled this show off without you, BRAVO!

All is quiet in the house again. That's a wrap on "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" for this cast, crew, and production team!

We are constantly amazed at the talent, skill, and poise that these students bring to the stage every performance, but this was a truly amazing run we've had! Congratulations to them all, and a huge THANK YOU to all those that helped pull it off behind the scenes, and to everyone that came out to a show!

Our 5th and final senior recognition for this year is Ashlen. She has been with us for 6.5 productions (again with "Peter Pan Jr" getting shut down a week before opening night), and has also been a leading role in several shows. Her favorite production was "The Sound of Music" (fun side fact: we're reusing the window set piece that we built for her character to climb through in that show for a scene in this show!), with "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" coming in a close second place. She played Liesl in "The Sound of Music," which was her favorite role that she's played on our stage.

She has so many great memories with the drama department, but she really loved the dynamic with her stage siblings in "The Sound of Music," especially being the older sibling. Taking selfies with Della "using the most foul Snapchat filters known to man" during that show was another favorite, and pushing out the car with Tavius and Elliott was her peak highlight during "Grease." For anyone thinking about trying out for a production, this is her message to you: "Don’t let anxiety and the fear of embarrassment stop you from putting yourself out there. If I had listened to my head freshman year instead of my heart, I never would’ve stepped out on this stage to do what I love. Most importantly, don’t let anyone tell you theater kids aren’t cool, because they absolutely are (I’m proof obviously)."

Ashlen brings calm and control to every performance she's been a part of. Her poise in the big roles she's played has been amazing, not to mention has "the voice of an angel" (as stated by both directors several times) , and is one of the nicest humans you'll ever meet. Catch her in one final performance today at the 2pm show! THANK YOU, Ashlen!

Our featured Senior for today is Elliott, who takes the stage as Milly tonight and tomorrow night. Elliott has been in 7 and a half shows with Elk Rapids Drama (the "half" was Peter Pan, which was less than a week from opening before shutdown), and has been a lead in quite a few of them! Her favorite show was "Working," where her big solo (as a middle schooler) was spent riding a stationary bike the entire time, haha. Although we're not sure we truly believe her, we are told that her favorite role was that of an "oompa loompa" in the Winter Play a couple years ago... 😆

Some of her favorite memories from the drama program include shooting Morgan P. in face with a prop arrow multiple times (on "accident"), having the high schoolers think she was cool when she was an 8th grader and letting her into their circle, and when Tavius brought in rotisserie chicken. She would like to tell anyone thinking about auditioning for a show: "Just remember that the directors are there to support you, no one will EVER judge you (and if they do that speaks volumes about them, not you), and that we live on a floating rock, so in the grand scheme of things, if it goes terrible, it doesn’t matter!"

Elliott has been an absolute blast to get to know over the years, both on stage and off! Her spunky personality and quick wit make her a hoot to be around, and boy can she sing and act! We will miss her dearly next year, but can't wait to see what the future holds for her! THANK YOU, Elliott!
