How many times has your group chat said:

“We really need to get together.”

…and then nobody picks a place? 😂

Consider this your sign.

Book clubs. Mom groups. Retired friends. Church groups. Crafting clubs. Play groups. Coworkers. Friends who simply need an excuse to catch up.

☕ Meet. Eat. Talk. Stay awhile.

In anticipation of temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, we, alongside our partners at Cosumnes Community Services District, will open a cooling center on Saturday, August 1. The center will operate from Noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at the Wackford Community Complex (9014 Bruceville Road). Operating dates may be extended if similar conditions persist.

Organizers are initiating the opening of the cooling center in response to excessive heat forecasted by the National Weather Service Sacramento. The Cooling Center is open to anyone who lacks shelter or adequate home cooling. A limited number of animal kennels will be available to house pets.

For updates to Elk Grove's cooling center schedule, visit elkgrove.gov.
