My friend Colleen Sutton posted this and explains how hard this job in the wedding business is. Beware before you jump into it. It’s difficult but can be rewarding. My retirement is coming up!!

“The business I’m in… is hard. Dealing with people on one of the most emotional days of their life… is hard. Dealing with ALL personality types, all at once … is hard. Being the peacekeeper, go to person (for wedding party, parents, guests, vendors)… is hard. Making quick-on the spot decisions, when something is not going as it should… is hard. Dealing with individuals that have consumed much (much) alcohol… is hard.
Mentally draining
Physically draining
Sometimes, even Spiritually draining

This business takes me away for long hours from my family. I leave my family to make lasting memories for other families. What I do… I do well. But sometimes… just sometimes… I dream about early retirement.” Colleen Sutton
