🌧️ HEAVY RAIN + YOUR SEPTIC SYSTEM

With several inches of rain expected this week, now is a good time to give your septic system a little extra attention.

When the ground becomes saturated, your drainfield may have a harder time accepting and treating wastewater. A few simple things can help:

💧 Cut back on unnecessary water use
🧺 Space out laundry loads
🚿 Avoid multiple water-heavy activities at the same time
🚗 Keep vehicles and heavy traffic off your drainfield
👀 Watch for slow drains, gurgling toilets, odors, or backups

That little yellow filter does more for your septic system than most people realize. It sits at the outlet of your tank and catches solids before they can reach the drain field, where they would cause real damage.

Here in Elephant Butte, a clogged or missing filter is one of the most common things we find during a septic inspection. The good news is it is an easy fix when caught early. We clean or replace filters as part of routine septic tank service and septic tank pumping, and if neglect has caused bigger problems, we handle septic tank repair and septic system repair too. For older setups that are past saving, we also do septic system installation and septic system replacement.
