It’s official - I found my person and I’m keeping him forever! 💍 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But who takes a photographer’s engagement photos?? I always thought about what it would be like to be on the other side of the lens for this type of shoot. I had it theoretically all planned out with my remote control and travel tripod.. but when push came to shove, our pal saved the day! Not only did he and our friends trek an extremely strenuous hike to get to this DREAM location, but he immediately jumped into the photog role that I realized we needed once we got there. He was so amazing! (Especially considering my neurotic photog tendencies with the angles and the posing and the lighting etc etc)⁣⁣

Needless to say, I’m so elated for this next chapter in my life! Now onto the wedding planning… ⁣⁣

I’ve known Ana since she was in middle school and it has been such a joy watching her grow into the incredible woman that she is today. She is so creative, dedicated, and sharp as a tack. I’m a fangirl of whatever she ends up doing in her career, because I know it’ll be awesome. Congrats Ana, you did it! ⛏🧡💙⁣⁣⁣⁣

What a treat to capture my dad (UTEP professor Dr. Zubia) and sister in this session!
Words from Raquel that made me ugly cry – “Dad, coach (for a brief time), Dr. Zubia, professor, these have all been titles that I have used to refer to this astonishing man. Regardless of the title, one thing has stayed true, his infinite amount of support. Whether it was driving me to out-of-city soccer tournaments and enduring frigid temperatures; or looking me in the eyes as I cry from stress saying, ‘You're going to be okay. I know you.’ When I have doubted my capabilities as an engineer, you have always reassured and reminded me of my accomplishments. It has been an immense honor being your daughter, researcher, and lastly, your student. Your striking work ethic and innate capacity for learning and teaching will forever be my motivation for being a great engineer and person.
What a marvelous feeling to have your Dad as both your mentor and biggest supporter. I love you Dad, thank you for all that you have done for me and our family 👨‍👧💕⛏”

She has the 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 of an engineer, so this is a 𝘯𝘰𝘥𝘦 to her hard work and dedication. She is 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳ful, ambitious, and shows little 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 in the face of adversity. And 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘵 better way to achieve all of this than to come from a 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘷𝘦 h𝘰𝘩𝘮 that my parents 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 as well. Congrats Raquel, we’re all so 𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘥 for you! ⛏⚡️⁣⁣

✌🏼2019 - what a rollercoaster! While the rest of my life was under construction, photography seemed to be consistent this year and I even hit a few milestones:⁣
✅ First time having my work exhibited in a gallery⁣
✅ First time being featured as album cover art⁣
✅ First time being featured as a magazine cover⁣
✅ First time shooting a wedding by myself⁣
