THE GREATEST GIFT EVER:
I’m in México City 🇲🇽 celebrating my Aunts 79th Birthday with the rest of my family & WOW do they know how to celebrate 🎉
Well last night we were up until 4 a.m. laughing and crying as we, really she, enlightened me to more of our families history & shared memories of her sister María whom is my mom. It’s one of those moments in life where you want time to slow down while paying attention to every word & detail knowing that the moment is profound.
My mother lost her life, instantly, at the age of 35 as she was ran over by a drunk driver. Fortunately she did not suffer, but a part of my being died the day my family had to tell me she was gone @ the age of 9. I am revived in those moments I think about her, especially her smile, & when my family share their memories of her, her life experiences, & her adventures.
Well last night, as we were going thru photos, my Aunt opens a cupboard & pulls out this pitcher. She says “your mother made this & it is now yours”. Of coarse tears instantly surfaced, ones of thankfulness because I had in my possession something of hers.
Material things are not normally things I seek after, but this is the greatest treasure I have ever acquired.
• its a vessel of her love
• it’s elegant & stylish just as she was
• it’s an expression of her talent
• it’s covered in her fingerprints
THIS IS MY GREATEST GIFT
Life is too precious to seek after what you do not have. Instead embrace the love of your family & the blessing that the Lord has and will place before you.
Enjoy it to the max!!! 😉
