I finally got our home library set up!

This is a dream. come. true.

It breaks all the rules of minimalism, but I'm down for it for just this one thing.

I love books. My kids love books. We read independently. We read together. Reading is a very big part of our life, so this library fits right in with our values.

Also, if you ever want to donate children's books, I'm happy to take them off your hands. They will go to a literacy focused home, where they will most definitely be read and loved. 🤎

Let that sink in.

How we represent ourselves determines how we will show up for others.

And if our actions don't align with our values, we aren't leading ourselves or others.

We aren't honoring 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 when we make promises to ourselves or others and don't follow through.
We aren’t honoring 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘 when we spend more time protecting the image of our life than improving the reality of it.
We aren't honoring 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓 when we talk poorly about or judge others.
We aren't honoring 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 when we blame others for the problems that we continually contribute to.
We aren't honoring 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 when we fall apart at criticism instead of filtering it to learn from what is constructive and helpful.
We aren't honoring 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄 when we complain about our circumstances and ruminate in our misery, instead of finding the diamonds.
We aren't honoring 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 when we say family is our top priority, but we give everyone else our best energy first.
We aren't honoring 𝐅𝐔𝐍 when we rarely smile and laugh in a genuine way that isn't at someone else's expense.
We aren't honoring 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 when we sit in our pity party of misery and take the role of the victim.

Self-leadership does not mean doing all these things perfectly. It means taking ownership of our lives and working towards improving ourselves in these areas every single day. It also means being accountable when we know we haven't honored our values, and doing the next right thing from there.

I am on a mission to level up my self-leadership. I'd love to have you join me.

Call to action: Write down on a sticky note one action step you are going to commit to for this week that improves your self-leadership. Put it somewhere you will see it every day and HONOR it.
