You now have plans for Friday Night! It is 62025 Day!
Come join as the City of Edwardsville has a lot of fun planned including a pie-eating contest! City Park, 101 S. Buchanan Street. Doug Thompson thank you for being such a great sport!
We've got some delicious fun in store for Friday night's 62025 Day -- a pie-eating contest! Now that's what we call a little slice of yummy fun in City Park, 101 S. Buchanan Street! What's even better? We're serving up an opportunity to help the Glen-Ed Pantry while our contestants chow down for charity! We'll have collection jars on site so you can vote with your donations for the contestant you believe can eat the most in four minutes! We'll weigh the pies -- chocolate cream confections created by 222 Artisan Bakery! -- before and after to determine the winner. We have nine brave (and hopefully hungry!) participants representing organizations throughout the community! Our hearty contestants are:
🥧 Andrea Miracle, Edwardsville Ward 3 alderwoman
🥧 Tim Bell, manager of Lewis and Clark Community College's N.O. Nelson Campus
🥧 Janet Haroian, supervisor of Edwardsville Township (and a former Edwardsville alderwoman)
🥧 Michael Fillback, chief of the Edwardsville Police Department
🥧 Doug Thompson, commander of American Legion Post 199 Edwardsville
🥧 Mark Mayfield, assistant chief of the Edwardsville Fire Department
🥧 Sam Quigley Smith, Women's basketball coach at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
🥧 Tanner Alexander, trustee for Pin Oak Township and a City committee volunteer
🥧 Kendall Paulus, Women's volleyball coach at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Come watch the messy fun unfold and hang out for the rest of the fun activities: Food and beverage trucks (starting at 5:30 p.m.), a commemorative overhead group photo (at 6:20 and 25 seconds!), the pie contest (at 6:45 p.m.) and a fantastic Friday night concert at 8 p.m. featuring Mike Sonderegger Music and his Dueling Pianos!
We'll also have some fun, free lawn games out to play and a raffle (to benefit the Pantry) featuring hundreds of dollars in gift cards and items from our AMAZING 62025 businesses! Find all the details and the list of participating businesses at: cityofedwardsville.com/62025
