Pitot Pete Thank you Sir for your kind words. They are always appreciated....Around the year of 1999,...I sat down with pen in hand and began the journey you see me on. I made a list of everything a man could desire in relation to the "perfect" place or home.....It had on the list, everything you have observed,...and more. I figured if I put as much details into the writings,...a greater chance of manifesting such a lofty idea could occur. I even drew the dogs flanking my side as I stood on the front porch of a authentic log cabin,..hidden from the mainstreams view.....i needed this place to be natural in the sustainability genre,..meaning lots of running water, natural refrigeration, natural shelter and a long host of other defines....The thought patterns would not leave my mind. A constant barrage of images would intrude the daily minutia of life....i listened within with great silence and observations. Sometimes a person has sensories that are outside the normal spectrum. For some reason ive been labeled by others...having a extra nueron or two, firing at a different frequency....meaning I could see this place,...I could sense this place,..I could actually "feel" this place,...long before I got here. Heck,...I had no idea where it's location existed,...only knew that it was waiting for me....I spent almost a year and a half physically searching. I started out of Lake Lure, North Carolina,...and drove, everyday, tracking,...hunting,...calling,...listening. 300 farms later...i found it on a late sunday afternoon. It was downpouring as I pulled up to the locked gate. I stepped out of the vehicle and climbed over and began walking. Inside,...I was shaking. Inside,...I was screaming...inside,...I knew something else was screaming also. I kept walking. I cared not about getting soaked. I cared not about the lightning. I only cared that life was about to take a hard right rudder. I knew it was time. I knew those drawings,..those writings,...those details, were now starring me in the face. As I crossed that creek for the first time...that you have seen in them videos, I looked at that Mill and audibly said....I'm here now. Through a long process of building, fixing, repurposing, bleeding, getting scarred, spending money...I kept going. I never left this place for the first 5 years. I worked nonstop with the exception to take a small break to eat something or sleep for a few hours. I hid this place from the world for about 11 years....until only as of recent,..about 3 years ago...did I begin the process of bringing this place into the light of day....That word you used..."Fortunate"....may not be as you suggest. It took all i ever was,...all that I am,...and all that I will ever be, to stand in the presence of this abode. Not many will put such energy into manifesting a thought into reality, and live to tell about it. But what is Fortunate,...is this....meeting some of yall through this platform. People like you and a few others can appreciate someone's hand on the plow, so to speak. People like yall,...make that word...Fortunate,....become alive,...and not just an idea or concept. Again,...thank you for your kindness. It's does not go unnoticed.
