Good evening BBQ Teams, we are trying to locate a person named Tim Lewis. He sent in a paper registration to compete in Stoney Creek BBQ Cookoff but the contact information listed does not work (no answer to phone calls and emails sent are going undelivered.

The name of his team is Vertical Smoke. We believe he may located in or near Hopewell, VA.

If you know him, he needs to contact us ASAP.

Stoney Creek BBQ Cookoff volunteers are hard at work. Yesterday was all about assembly of Judges bags and staging a few other items.

August 22nd is approaching fast and your BBQ committee is busy working on the final preparations!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

For 2026, sponsors at a certain level get the opportunity to shadow a team at the competition to learn what it takes to be a The Kansas City Barbeque Society Competition BBQ team. This is a unique and meaningful opportunity for the unlearned to learn about what it takes to compete. This is a new perk we’re offering to our uber sponsors, teams answered at registration if they were interested in participating, and we chose the teams for this experience based on the nature of who was coming. We tried to pair people up with teams we believe will be a good fit.

If you are interested in participating in the VIP experience, let us know, we’ll tell you how that’s done. And for all the teams who signed up to help, thank you. This has been such a success, we’ll probably be doing this again next year, so, remember to sign up again next year. You get a discount off your registration fees.

We’d like to acknowledge the sponsors and the teams who will be participating this year.
