2020 has been a really hellish year for most people. I'm sure you've been reading all sorts of horrid reflections as December has hit, and I do not intend to be another one. The year has of course ruined a portion of my early twenties that I will never get back. But just like any other year, a lot of good things have happened, too:

I started this business, and although two months later my industry basically became illegal, I spent a lot of that free time building up the parts of a business you don't see. It's given me a lot more confidence in the business.
I'm still incredibly grateful for the opportunities I did have this year to do actual, hands-on weddings and florals. I have met the most amazing people who have all taught me so much. And hey, starting the business this year was like getting baptized by fire. It seems I learned the hardest things first.
I wrote an entire book over quarantine. Currently editing before I seek secondary editing and eventually publishing.
I rediscovered my love of music with all the extra hours. There was this gaping hole inside my identity that I had lost in the last two years, and I finally filled it with music.
I made immense fitness progress like I never had before (deadlifting 175 right now, and hipthrusting 235 EASY).
And maybe perhaps the most important of all: I quit my toxic retail job!🥳

Most of this is thanks to you all. My amazing clients, my friends and family following this account to support me. And especially the vendors I've met who taught me everything I know, and encouraged me to take this step. This year has sucked a little, but it's also been pretty rad, and I am one lucky little lady❤️

This was taken on a beautiful November day where many people walked around comfortably sleeveless... but is anyone else just itching for snow? I’m such a winter sports babe, especially skating and skiing. And hailing from the north, Maryland gets practically nothing. I’m ready for a big ole’ storm!

I was assisting florals with a week or so back when I passed a corner and noticed the way the shadows hit. It was just kind of profound. The only way we notice the light is when darkness surrounds it. Just some food for thought.

Hey there! I’m Mallory, the owner and lead planner over here at Pink Peony Coordination. From childhood I've always been in love with weddings, planning them in a series of different aesthetics with my Barbies. As I grew older, I knew that whatever I did would have to be in celebration of the loves stories of others. I'm a writer who channels that passion into making your wedding day a tangible expression of your own romance. That, paired with my natural knack for organization, translates into creating a beautiful and tidy wedding day for you.

Along with writing, I'm very passionate about weightlifting, interior design, the color pink, and good company. My happy place is surrounded by people, hearing their stories over a basket of buffalo wings and a pint of lager.
