Seven different types of plastics, but which ones can we recycle? Numbers 1 and 2 are the most common plastics in your home, followed by number 5. Put all 1-5 and 7 containers in your bin. Bring plastic bags/films to retail drop offs!

The Health Department’s Environmental Health Lab samples the water at six public beaches each week throughout the summer for bacteria levels. Beaches include: Riverview Park, Big Falls, Half Moon Lake, Lake Altoona, Lake Eau Claire and C**n Fork Beach and Campground.

NO FEE required this weekend!! We invite you to get out and enjoy any of the county parks.

This Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd, the public is invited to use ANY of the seven parks and boat landings under jurisdiction of the Eau Claire County Parks & Forest Department as well as Tower Ridge Recreation Area without payment of vehicle entrance fees.

The Register of Deeds staff were able to capture a picture of the "annual" releasing a mother duck and her ducklings from the courtyard at the Government Center this morning.

Thank you to the Facilities staff and to this driver for obeying the crosswalk law to get the ducks safely across.

The Eau Claire County Parks & Forest Department will be opening there ATV/UTV trails 8 AM Saturday May 12th 2018. Please use caution as trails may be be a little rough in spots. Please obey all laws and be courteous to all other user groups that may be recreating at the same time out on the county forest.

Most of all have fun, be safe, and stop at all road crossings! Any questions on trail information or maps please contact the Eau Claire County Parks & Forest Department at 715-839-4738.

Our first Clean Sweep of 2018 is tomorrow, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is your chance to dispose of all of your hazardous materials. Check out the image below for a list of what is accepted, and the fees. Please note that biological and infectious waste, radioactive materials, pressurized cylinders (other than propane and fire extinguishers), explosive and shock sensitive materials are not accepted. This program is for HOUSEHOLD hazardous waste, businesses must register as VSQG's.

May is almost here! (Already, where is the year going!?) That means Yard Waste Pick-up is just around the corner. Make sure to get some compostable bags to bag up your waste! Your hauler sets the schedules, so please contact them with questions.

Crews are currently out grooming at Tower Ridge!

Please Note: The parking lot at Tower Ridge is not plowed, so getting in will probably need a 4 wheel drive.

All other trails will be assessed tomorrow, including Lowe’s Creek.

According to the Highway Dept. Operations Manager;

The crews continue to perform winter maintenance operations. The state roads will have 24 hour coverage. The county highways will have crews running on that 4 AM to 10 PM schedule for plowing, maintaining and monitoring.
