The Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center opened its doors in the fall of 2001. At that time, a group of local business men and women wanted to provide youth an alternative to playing computer games, watching television, or searching for something to do. The original mission throughout all these years stays the same – to provide a safe, healthy, and fun destination for youth and families in the Chippewa
Valley and Northwestern Wisconsin. Whether it is the Family Fun Zone for preschoolers, our School’s Out Program for elementary and middle school students, our Friday Family Nights for young families, or Summer Camp for working families, the Sports Center provides a host of alternatives. In many ways, we have evolved into a Community Center of sorts for all to come and enjoy the sports leagues, birthday parties, dance lessons, open gym, and planned family or neighborhood activities. We also have created four annual social events for families to attend – the RCU New Year’s Eve Celebration and Halloween Party, Xcel Energy Kid’s Expo, and Family Fest. In addition, we have become the destination of choice for Conventions, Expos, and Community Events. Our 50,000 square foot facility offers ample room for businesses to display their products and services, and our 550 space parking lot is one of the largest in the City of Eau Claire. Moreover, the whole layout of the facility is on one level, providing vendors easy entrance and exit, as well as making it readily accessible for physically handicap guests. In past years, we have hosted the Indianhead Food Show, Chippewa Valley Home & Garden Show, Farm Show, Gun Show, RV Show, Eau Claire Humane Association Show, Indianhead Model Train Show, and the Eau Claire Business Expo. In September of 2018, the Sports Center was purchased by the YMCA. Gymnastics was added and all of our regular great programming remains. We encourage you to visit the YMCA Sports Center.
