We have a special guest speaker coming all the way from Virgina for our Longmont Survival and Prepper Show! Jim bordwine aka the the salt man!

Jim Bordwine’s roots in Saltville stretch back to the 1770s, with ancestors who lived through and fought in these defining moments. His dedication to preserving Saltville’s legacy goes beyond education—he is an active practitioner of traditional salt-making techniques, ensuring that this invaluable craft is passed down to future generations. By apprenticing his son, Baron Bordwine, Jim continues the time-honored traditions that sustained his ancestors for centuries.

Jim’s deep-rooted connection to Saltville, Virginia, one of America’s most important historical salt-making centers, has fueled his dedication to reviving and teaching this lost art of food preservation. In a time before refrigeration, salt was the key to ensuring survival—preserving meat, curing hides, and sustaining entire communities.

Longmont Survival and Prepper Show this weekend!

This event is Saturday March 1st from 9AM - 5PM and Sunday March 2nd from 10AM - 4PM
Location - Boulder County Fairgrounds - Exhibit Building
Admission is $10 for both days

Free Seminars and Demonstrations all weekend

Introducing a special guest that will be a vendor at the show selling products from her businesses Prowlers Pickles and High Stakes Honey. She is also a top MMA fighter!
She will be doing a free demonstration on the basics of canning on Sunday March 2nd from 10:30AM - 11:00AM for anyone that is interested.
Miranda Maverick will once again be attending our event. Not only is she the number #13 world-ranked UFC fighter, but she is also a business owner who runs her businesses selling both pickles and honey (prowlerpickles.com/honeyshop). She offers 11 different flavors of pickles along with pickled asparagus and pickled jalapeños. She also sells different flavored honey as well as pure raw honey. She will also have some specialty items such as bloody Mary mixes, beeswax candles, and more at this event! You might even see some of her MMA merch available that she is happy to sign for you!

"Throughout Sat, Otto, a nationally certified blacksmith with Innovation Forge LLC, will demonstrate forging various survival items, such as drive hooks, nails, woodworking tools, small traps, and arrowheads, without electric tools. At 11 a.m., he will demonstrate making a small pack axe from a rasp. At 3 p.m., he will demonstrate forging a basic bushcraft knife blank."
