Good Morning one and all it's time to hear about our second concert for Chesapeake Music's closing weekend of our 40th Anniversary Music Festival! Our first weekend was wonderful and exciting but now it's time to move on...

Wow what a FANTASTIC weekend of wonderful music and artistry performed by our opening weekend of stunning performers! We here at Chesapeake Music were approached by many happy patrons telling us how much they enjoyed their performances. And we wanted to remind everyone who may not have gotten tickets yet that we have ANOTHER weekend of the same wonderful music and artistry from a new set of performers THIS weekend! It starts this Thursday, June 12th at 7:30pm, Friday June 13th at 7:30pm AND Saturday June 14th at 7:30pm. We also will have a free open rehearsal on Wednesday June 11th starting at 10:00am at the Ebenezer Theater. If you would like to order your tickets go to our website today, www.chesapeakemusic.org or you can visit Discover Easton or DelMarva Public Media's website they will also be able to take you to our ticket order system. WOW we here at Chesapeake Music are so excited because tomorrow June 6th at 7:30pm is the opening of our 40th Anniversary Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival! The weather is going to be nice and the theater packed with music loving patrons. So let's continue in letting you know about our second weekends programs. What a dreary day, BUT our 40th Anniversary Chamber Music Festival is just around the corner and that makes us happy here at Chesapeake Music. Now it's time to tell you about the 2nd night of performances on June 7th at 7:30pm. What a night full of music it will be!

Experience Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 5 in A Major, which pays homage to both Mozart and Haydn and offers a study of Mozartian Classical elegance and nascent Beethovian Romanticism. Delight in two short pieces by French pianist and composer Cécile Chaminade, “Automne” and “Autrefois,” featuring Rising Star Albert Cano Smit, and Dvořák’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat Major, a work demonstrating the composer’s gift for lyricism, romantic sweep, and exquisite tone.
General Admission tickets are $70; six concerts can be purchased for the price of five through a subscription package ($350). Chesapeake Music also offers a limited number of free tickets for students, music educators, and Talbot County First Responders, as well as a “buy-one-get-one” option for first-time patrons of Chesapeake Music.

Our 40th Anniversary Chamber Music Festival opens in just 3 weeks!

In Easton’s intimate, jewel-box Ebenezer Theater, over the course of two weeks, 19 musicians will present six captivating programs and two free open rehearsals.

An overview of our Festival’s first week’s offerings…

Wednesday, June 4 — ENJOY OF FREE OPEN REHEARSAL!
Tickets are required and can be reserved online at www.chesapeakemusic.org

Friday, June 6 — Luigi Boccherini’s Quintet in D Minor, arranged for the oboe by Peggy Pearson and featuring cellists Marcy Rosen and Sterling Elliott. Robert Schumann’s late trio, Märchenerzählungen (“Fairy Tales”), featuring the unusual combination of clarinet, viola, and piano and described by the composer as “picturesque and fanciful” and “highly romantic,” follows. After intermission, the concert closes with Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 2 in C Major, a work filled with rich melodies, featuring Robert McDonald, Catherine Cho, and Marcy Rosen.

Good Morning Everyone! We here at Chesapeake Music are so excited because our 40th Anniversary Music Festival is just around the corner! It starts on Friday June 6th at 7:30 pm, Saturday the 7th at 7:30 pm and Sunday June 8th at 5:00 pm. You will be amazed at the wonderfully talented musicians that are joining us in our celebration.. On our opening weekend Chesapeake Music’s Artistic Directors Marcy Rosen and Catherine Cho will be performing along with Peggy Pearson, Robert McDonald, J Lawrie Bloom, Todd Phillips, Sterling Elliott, Zhanbo Zheng, Albert Cano Smit and Carmit Zori. There will be pieces written by Brahms, Dvorak, Haydn, Boccherini, Schumann, Beethoven and much more! Make your plans to come out and see us and listen to the music fill the air with enchanting sounds! There will be a second weekend to follow June 12th, 13th and 14th and we’ll be writing about this soon.
