You know us for our elegant hors d’oeuvres and savory spreads—but don’t sleep on the sweets. From glossy chocolate mousse to slices of Smith Island cake, our dessert tables are as thoughtful as they are irresistible. Think homemade brownies, chewy cookies (oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, and blackberry linzer, just to name a few!), banana bread, pecan tassies, and classic English lemon posset—each one made with the same care and craft that define every Hambleton House menu.

We source produce locally from incredible partners like Williwaw Farm and Cottingham Farm, so every bite is as fresh as it is flavorful. 🌟 Big news from Hambleton House! 🌟

Chef Jordan Lloyd has made it to the Top 5 in the national America’s Favorite Chef competition—a huge honor that shines a light on the incredible culinary talent and deep-rooted food culture here on the Delmarva Peninsula. Jordan’s cooking is inspired by family, community, and the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay—each dish a love letter to the land, water, and people who make this region so special.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of dining with us, you know that Chef Jordan brings heart and precision to every plate. A native of the Eastern Shore, he’s a fierce advocate for local farms, watermen, and food artisans. His all-time favorite dish? A perfectly trussed roast chicken, soy-butter glazed and served with crisp French fries—simple, soulful, and rooted in craft. With nearly three decades of high-level culinary ex*****on and hospitality experience, a deep love for his family, and founder of the nonprofit Family Meal—which provides life and career coaching to people from all walks—Jordan is committed to giving back. If he wins, he plans to donate a large portion of the prize money to this cause.

You can cast one vote for free, or donate to vote multiple times, with all proceeds benefiting the James Beard Foundation and their mission to uplift the culinary world. It was an honor to be part of a special day at Chesapeake College on Maryland's Eastern Shore, where Governor Wes Moore’s Cabinet gathered for a meeting and toured the college’s impressive Career and Technical Education and Culinary facilities. Hambleton House was proud to support the event alongside the talented students of the Queen Anne's County High School Culinary Program, with Chef Jordan Lloyd and Chef Derek Dilley lending their expertise as culinary instructors to guide and mentor the next generation of hospitality professionals.

This marks the end of the second school year of the program, which was created to give high school students a path into the culinary and hospitality industry; it also offers students at Queen Anne’s County High School a chance to experience a commercial kitchen facility. With the program expanding next year to include Kent Island High School, the future is bright! Chef Jordan has also launched Skipjack Catering, a student-run initiative that has successfully executed four events, generating revenue for the program and giving students real-world experience, ownership, and leadership opportunities.

The aprons worn by our team—and gifted to Governor Moore—were beautifully handmade by Susan Lane, Chef Jordan’s mother-in-law, a small but memorable expression of the heart behind the work.

Governor Moore’s visit underscored the powerful impact Chesapeake College is making in the educational sector—not just on the Shore, but across the entire state and beyond, and Hambleton House is honored to be a part of it. We’re proud to stand alongside these students, educators, and community leaders shaping the future of food and hospitality in Maryland. Thanks for visiting, Governor Wes Moore !
