Racing luck plays such a huge part of who wins and who loses at the harness track, and the Amanda Fine-trained Bronzer received a perfect steer from while taking advantage of rough trips for some of the figure horses to take the featured $20,000 high-end conditioned trot on the first of four consecutive Sunday afternoon programs at The Meadowlands.

In addition, Bronzer’s driver thought his 5-year-old son of Muscle Hill-Win Missy B would excel shipping in from a half-mile track.

“He’s been racing really well at Yonkers and has been closing well,” said Siegelman.
Bronzer was away well from post 2 in the field of 10, as was Clear For Landing, and the duo reached the quarter in :28.2 before Clear For Landing cleared to the top. Bronzer sat behind that foe in the pocket as the half went in :56.2.

Down the backstretch, 6-1 fourth choice Bourbonista S was traveling first-over and weakened nearing three-quarters, where Clear For Landing still led in 1:25.
Benny J, the even-money favorite and Exit 16W champion, had to take back early, was victimized by a shuffle before swinging three-wide in a dull flow in an effort where he performed credibly to finish fourth.

Enter the opportunistic Bronzer, who swerved off the rail at the head of the stretch, and went past Clear For Landing at the eighth pole on the way to an easy 2¼-length win in 1:54.2, his 11th victory in 42 lifetime tries. Clear For Landing held second with Diplomacy third.

“The Yonkers horses translate great here. He’s good at both spots,” said Siegelman.

As the 11-1 sixth choice in the betting, Bronzer returned $25.20 to win after increasing his lifetime earnings to $144,202.

Boston Bound appeared to be in an ambitious spot in the Saturday night feature at The Meadowlands, a $25,000 TrackMaster 90 on the pace, but after being claimed out of his last outing for $35,000, the Chris Height trainee proved up to the challenge of the bump up in class to record a sizzling 1:50.1 score on a damp, chilly evening over a sloppy track at The Big M.

It would take a lifetime-best effort to get the job done, and that’s exactly what the 6-year-old son of Boston Red Rocks-Ashleeswayrhighway brought to the dance.
Music Hall and Bondi Lockdown A pushed the gate away at the start as Boston Bound also opted to mix it up in the early fray. Music Hall led at the quarter in a snappy :26.3 before Boston Bound grabbed the point between the three-eighths and half and hit the half-mile marker in :54.1 as Jettingtomalibu was applying pressure racing beside the leader on the rim.

The harassment continued into and around the far turn as Boston Bound reached three-quarters in 1:23, but as the field straightened away at the top of the lane, Boston Bound shrugged off Jettingtomalibu and powered clear to a 1¾-length victory in a thoroughly dazzling performance. American Dealer N rallied for second with Jettingtomalibu holding third.

“He’s super nice, two fingers to drive,” said winning pilot Mark Herschberger. “It took us a bit to clear, we got stretched out a bit to the half, but it was such a game effort having somebody come at him that early and fight back. He’s such a good horse.

“The first-up horse, he gave a good effort through the turn, and then we just kind of put him away. I kicked the [ear] plugs out off the turn and gave him a good holler, and he responded very well.”

Boston Bound registered his fourth straight win and 19th lifetime in 86 starts. Owned by William Emmons, the 5-2 second choice returned $7.40 to his backers while raising his lifetime earnings to $264,003.

Del Kern hit the 20-cent Pick-5 and that was the catalyst in contest-regular Kern taking the first of 11 monthly installments of the 2026 Meadowlands Monthly Handicapping Contest.

He finished the night with a bankroll of $934.01 to not only take that money home, but also the $500 first prize in the $1,000 competition. Stefan Ferrara’s final tally of $840.76 was good for second and $250 in prize money.

By finishing 1-2, Kern and Ferrara have earned spots in the end-of-the-year, $10,000 invitation-only contest “final”, where only the 11 monthly top-two finishers will be eligible to participate.

The next $1,000 “qualifier” is on Friday, Feb. 20.

Driver has turned the marvelous into the mundane, as the red-hot defending Big M driver champ, who guided 36 winners during the month of December, won four races on the Fri night program, including both $17,500 co-featured high-end conditioned events.

The 22-year-old pilot got his night started late, winning the 1st of his quartet in the 8th race with 5-1 second choice Pit Boss Hanover, who returned $13.20 to win. The winning time of 1:52 was a lifetime best for the 5yo daughter of Betting Line-Pretty N Fast for trainer Corey Stratton

His 2nd win came in the 9th with Finite in the co-featured trot. Finite worked out a perfect pocket trip behind 2-1 favorite Super Duper Cooper to score in a lifetime-best 1:52.4 as the 7-2 third choice in the wagering.

“He was obviously really good tonight,” said Beckwith. “My horse did it all on his own. Super Duper Cooper is a nice horse, every horse in there is a talented animal, but mine went a career best effort tonight.”

A 5-year-old gelded son of Resolve-Awesome Chrissy, the Ron Burke trainee racked up his 10th career victory in 53 tries. He paid $9.60 to win after hitting the wire 1-length in front of Super Duper Cooper.

Beckwith had an easier time of it in the 10th – the co-featured pace for fillies and mares – guiding Australian import Tick A Loch A to a super-easy 3¼-length score over Pressure Cooker in 1:51 for her 1st ever win on North American soil.

Chris Height trains the 6yo daughter of Always B Miki-Timely Loch, who took the lead just after the quarter and never had an anxious moment on the way to victory lane. She returned $2.60 as the 1-5 favorite.

A winner of 146 Big M races during '25 who’s copped 5 straight Big M Driver of the Week Awards, Beckwith capped his big night in the 11th as he won a 4th straight dash with 7-5 favorite Iwon’t Backdown As. The 7-year-old gelded son of Lionhunter-Fortunes Dream, who is trained by Anette Lorentzon, paid $4.80 to win after completing the mile in 1:54.

Beckwith is threatening to make '26 a runaway in his quest for a 2nd consecutive Meadowlands driver title. He already has 12 victories this year, 7 more than runner-up Mark Herschberger.
