I’ve been quieter online lately, not because I’ve lost motivation, but because I’ve been more present at home.

I’m still creating and giving every film the same care and intention as always, just at a slower pace while I try to balance being the dad I want to be and the filmmaker I’m called to be.

If you’re a parent, you probably get it. This season is beautiful and exhausting all at once. The days feel long, the nights are unpredictable, and just when you think you’ve found your rhythm, everything changes again. My oldest daughter is in a stage of big leaps and growth, and it’s reminded me how fast it all really goes.

Things might take longer right now, but quality still matters, and family matters more.

Grateful for everyone’s patience and support while I figure out this balance.

Hello! My name is Ben Libby, and I am the owner of Graphic Formation, LLC, an event videography business out of Des Moines, IA. My wife, Lauren, and I have lived in Des Moines since August of 2015. Ben graduated on May 1st, 2019 with his Robotics and Control Systems Engineering Technology, AAS degree from Des Moines Area Community College. Lauren graduated on May 24th, 2019 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, DPT degree from Des Moines University.

In March of 2018, we had the opportunity to film a wedding “for fun,” and we absolutely loved it. After that, we decided to invest in some real equipment and start our own videography business that following May. We are an epic husband and wife duo eager to show our easy-going, fun, and cinematic film services. I’ve been making videos for many years unprofessionally, and am excited and proud to display my work professionally now. Here at Graphic Formation, LLC, we favor videos with a cinematic feel that help produce emotions that were felt during the time of filming; we strive to achieve this while capturing events like: weddings, receptions, business advertisements, and other local events.
