Congratulations to Julia!
This is her Mom's wedding gown that we took apart, beading restored, and lined into a top so she could wear it to her wedding rehearsal and dinner. Excellent re-use idea for this piece, now it can be worn again and passed down to someone else to wear easily with pants or a skirt 🩵
Thank you to her Mom Fran for being so enthusiastic about this process!

Please reconsider dove release at any events.

It's spring and love is in the air! While we may associate this with the joy of the upcoming wedding season, others aren't as lucky. Consider this beautiful white pigeon who came to us lost and confused. Sadly, we see this every year; dove-like pigeons are released at weddings (or funerals) for guests to watch fly away BUT these avians are unable to survive in the wild. If you know a RI bride, please ask them to reconsider using animals. Luckily, we were able to adopt this adorable fluff out to a new forever home. Thanks for being a wildlife defender and spreading the word!

I'm having LOVE/Hate feelings about this.
LOVE: that they are cutting up their dresses for the party! Fun!
Hate: that people are still buying 1 wear poly cheap dresses for weddings 😡
For the love of the Earth, PLEASE stop making your attendants wear matching ugly dresses you know perfectly well are going straight into landfill! Pick a color palette and let them buy something they actually like and will wear again. 🌎🌍🌏
April is EARTH MONTH so remember, all that ugly polyester has a half life of 200 years.... that means they won't begin to break down for another 200 years so they are the fashion equivalent of plastic grocery bags, Ladies. Trash.

Just got my Shot #4! 👍 Ready to people again safely here at the Studio and in the Fitting Lounge for 2023.
Brides and 1 Guest are asked to show a vaccination card at the door when you arrive for appointments so we can continue to keep each other Covid-free for the season.

Custom Wedding Gowns 101, how designing works.
* You found THE gown but the price is over your budget, so you think having an exact copy made is cheaper. NOPE!
Dress in point is the Alvin by Rime Arodaky which retails for $4800., it's worth it and still available online. So why come to Seams Couture to have a copy made if that's what you want? We'd be making only one, it will take days to source all the lace which won't be an exact match because the Designer probably has this made exclusively. Sourcing and putting all the elements together will be more work and labor hours ultimately to copy exactly so we're just going to tell you to buy the original. Finance 101, makes this sort of thing more expensive actually. (Also that's unethical to ask one Designer to rip off another)
*You found photos of a gown you love BUT there are things you want to change. GREAT! We can make a custom gown that echoes the design in a different lace pattern, change the sleeves and neckline a bit, maybe the skirt shape? That is where Custom is your best option, so let's get started.
