Pony Town ♥️ I started Pony Town at 26.

This photo was from 8 years ago.

I posted an Earth Day event and I'll never forget the shock and pride on John and Jim Fords faces as they panicked to help park everyone.

Over 600 people came thru that day for our first large public event. No barn, no princesses, just open land, some farm animals and a handful of toys from FB Marketplace.

Not saying we invented this lane, but I'm sooooo proud of what we've built at Pony Town. We paved the way and inspired a lot of people on the south shore with our farm parties, events and creative strategies to help supplement a working farms income. People have been watching us (some copying us) for nearly a decade.

I used to put up a silver tarp pole tent every day with my baby strapped to my chest to get ready for parties.

I use to charge $3 to get in and $1 for pony rides. I made no money for years but people loved this secret farm on Mondays for play dates.

We've grown thru a pandemic, we've welcomed many new animals and said goodbye to some old ones.

We built a party barn, trenched electricity, laid stone dust, put in a paved parking lot..

And to watch it grow has been really amazing.

I am in the process of handing the reins of Pony Town over to Wendy & Sage Ford this season.

The business is on their farm and horses are Ford's passion. It's the only logical progression as I focus on the growth of Holmestead Harvest.

I'm so proud that I started this at 26 years old and by 35 am selling a business that will provide an income stream to a family that has given me soo much opportunity and freedom to create. This opportunity is not one I take lightly and I think it really speaks to what you can do if you're given a chance and have unrelenting ambition.

A small business making it 10 years is quite impressive, especially in the economy of the last decade. A small, woman-owned business doing six figures annually while raising her children is also impressive, if I do say so myself.

I just want to thank everyone for growing this with me over the last decade and letting Pony Town be a staple for your family entertainment.

The Fords are lifelong cowboys. True definition of horsemanship. I'm soooo excited to see what the rest of this season & next season hold for them as we slowly transition.

Be ready for so much more equestrian-centered programming ♥️

Let us never forget the year my bunny suit didn't arrive in time and I had to buy this one at Party City and kids were crying because Joe looked like he was gonna bludgeon them with a carrot.

Mannnn, what a life.
