This mama booked a glamping night to celebrate the end of the school year. When I arrived to set up (sweaty, tired, and almost finished), her family came home and stopped by to say hello.
Her young son told me he had been waiting for a glamping night for a while. Instant heart melt. โค๏ธ
His parents went inside while I finished up some final touches, and he asked me, โ€œIs this YOUR business?โ€
That question always catches me off guard. Maybe because it still feels strange to say yes. Maybe because Iโ€™m usually focused on the work and not thinking about the fact that I actually built this. Or maybe because it was 90 degrees, I had just driven two hours from my full-time office job in Boston, and I was exhausted.
When I told him yes, he smiled and said, โ€œWhat a cool business. Thank you!โ€
I immediately replied, โ€œNo, thank YOU!โ€
That simple moment completely made my night. In fact, he thanked me a few more times before I left.
Usually, I donโ€™t get to meet the kids enjoying these setups because theyโ€™re inside or not home when I arrive. But this time, it was an absolute pleasure. What a kind, warm-hearted, thoughtful little boy.
He reminded me how important kindness and appreciation really are. You never know how a few simple words can impact someoneโ€™s day. He also reminded me that kids still love being outside, exploring, making memories, and that those experiences matter.

๐ŸšจSo, in the spirit of spreading a little kindness, this October Iโ€™ll be offering a one-night glamping sleepover for families who may not be able to enjoy an experience like this due to financial hardship, or for a family that simply needs a little pick-me-up.
