Kurstins latest creation. A vintage Peace Lilly pitcher. She used vintage Mayco shop glazes that Mae dug out from her stash of vintage glazes including picadilly, evergreen and needlepoint. Inside she used Mayco one coat clear. Came out great! Kurstin is headed to Wyoming today for an interview for an internship working on Wolf preservation and study. They are interviewing and choosing candidates for next year. Wish luck her luck as she Perseus her dream of studying and preservation of wildlife.

There's more, Kurstin also made this mantle tree, it turned out great! These are a great alternative to the large round trees that take up too much space for a mantle. Good work from a smart young lady that isn't waiting until Dec.15th to start one and make Mae have to fire the kiln on Dec 23 because it needs to be on display for family Christmas dinner.lol(that actually happened once)

Kurstin made the Alien Flying saucer lamp that Mae poured in a 1956 mold that was a barn find. It turned out great, she used vintage shop glaze and added pick lights and a light kit. The recipient is very lucky. I doubt I could have given it up after seeing it when it came out of the kiln.

We are having a coloring contest at the Maze! Joyce Prock, my sister is recovering from a broken kneecap. She is sketching pictures on Styrofoam trays that would otherwise go to the landfill. If you would like to pick one, they are all different,, come by and get one. Take it home and color it, then bring it back. If you don't have permanent markers you can color it at the shop using our markers. We will display them and let the public vote to determine the winners. Age groups are 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 12& above. There will be prizes for each age group. This contest is Sponsored by Texoma Artisan and Craftsman Guild and The Maze. This is a great way to make art out of something that would otherwise end up in the landfill. So come get them!
