That is pretty crazy right there.

Way to go.

Way to go.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 28th Annual Mickey Thompson Million Dollar Race Winner Donnie Hagar is leaving the building!!! Letโ€™s show him some love!!

As I sit and watch the big trailers, RVs and rigs pass by, this quickly captured my attention! I got emotional. Not gonna lie - TJ Pruitt ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

Original storyโ€ฆ incase you missed

INCREDIBLE STORY: Donnie Hagar has probably 1 of 10 open trailers here at the Million Dollar Race and the only racer to sleep in a TENT surrounded by very expensive racing operations. He spends every minute of every day into this sport that we love.

Young Hagar saved up just enough money and drove over night from Michigan to compete in just 1 day, the main event (all he could afford) and wins the Million Dollar Drag Race with no delay box in his Vega drag car. Small generator, open trailer, his tent, and his 6-second simple door car. After the split, Hagar won over $200,000 after the racers split the purse earlier in the rounds.

He is the first no-box racer in the history of drag racing to win a Million Dollar Race with no delay box and he will go down in history as your 28th Annual Winner after defeating legendary bracket racer Shane Carr in the final round.

In the semi-finals he was .004 total package against Mikey Bloomfieldโ€™s 9 total package. Hagar was .005 reaction in the final round.

Wild ride for John

For the first time in the history of Pro Modified Drag Racing, fans of the action-packed and awe-inspiring FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Type A Motorsports will watch their favorite class of drag racing, during race day, on television. The ultra-competitive category will be featured during the primary Sunday broadcast of NHRA drag racing on FS1 and FOX for all ten Pro Mod races.

Two-time NHRA Pro Mod world champion and category advocate Stevie โ€œFastโ€ Jackson is part of the wider team responsible for securing guaranteed air time on each broadcast for the 10 Pro Mod events featured on this yearโ€™s NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule.

โ€œIโ€™ve been to hundreds of racing events and the number one question I get asked is, when will fans get to see Pro Mods on the main TV broadcast,โ€ said Jackson. โ€œWe have listened to you (the fans) because we love you, and here it comes. We are excited to deliver Pro Mod on the big show!โ€ Jackson went on to say โ€œI am just a small part of a rock star group of folks who are as passionate and in love with Pro Modified as I am. There are a bunch of people that have sacrificed a lot to bring NHRA Pro Mod to the level itโ€™s at now, and I am proud to work with some of the best in the business.โ€
In addition to the existing 30-minute, in-depth broadcast dedicated to the Pro Mod category, the primary Sunday NHRA on FOX show will feature extensive coverage of NHRA Pro Mod competition in a response to the high demand the class has generated. In 2022, NHRA on FOX experienced some of the best viewership numbers the sport has ever seen including the biggest audience in NHRA history as the broadcast from the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway averaged more than 1.6 million viewers with a peak of 2.8 million.
Three of the events featuring the FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Type A Motorsports will be on the FOX broadcast network, with the other seven on FS1, offering a phenomenal opportunity to attract new viewers to the categoryโ€™s growing fan base.

โ€œThe extremely exciting part of this, is that the racing community really came together to work with NHRA to make this happen,โ€ said Debbie Oโ€™Rourke of Finish Line Consultants who represent the NHRA Pro Mod racers. โ€œWeโ€™ve been digging deep to understand how to take Pro Mod to the next level. And here we are, in collaboration with NHRA, weโ€™ve managed to pull off this deal and we are thrilled to deliver this to the fans!โ€

โ€œThe NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series continues to be a growing attraction at NHRA events and weโ€™re thrilled the class will have its biggest platform yet to showcase the talented racers involved and the incredible racing that takes place,โ€ said Brad Ge**er, NHRA vice president and chief development officer. โ€œIt will also add another great aspect to our NHRA on FOX broadcasts, giving race fans a chance to see all the exciting action in the NHRA Pro Mod category on raceday.โ€

The FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series also has a new presenting sponsor this season. Type A Motorsports, owned by Marty Robertson, specializes in buying and selling race cars, racing components and support vehicles. Additionally, the category has secured presenting sponsorship for each of the 10 events in which it will participate this season.

Coverage of the FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Type A Motorsports will kick off in two weeks at the 54th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. with a prime spot on the FOX broadcast network. Fans can tune into FOX starting at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 12 for coverage.
