After 32 yrs in Dumont I decided to bring my business to the great town of Oradell. Please stop by on Sunday July 13 from 12-3. Ribbon cutting with the mayor and council will begin at 12pm.

There will be plenty of samples available to taste of all the gourmet foods with carry. Imported from France, Italy and the Ukraine. A new kosher and gluten free section. 70% of our made in america items come from small woman owned businesses. Vendors will be there serving you samples. We will have our branding team their to show you all the different types of way we can brand your company, logo, business or event on to everything from edibles to candles.

It's a bittersweet announcement. After 32 yrs in business in Dumont I decided to relocate to a commercial building in oradell as of JULY 1. 550 Kinderkamack Rd Suite 141 Oradell.

I have seen many businesses and families come and go and I have watched my customers become parents and grandparents.

I am lucky that the first 3 customers to walk into my store on West Shore Ave are still customers today and I am proud to call friends. Colleen Considine Fisco Michael Jabel Bunny Kiel Spano . I can still remember Mike running in on a Sunday wanting a gift to bring to the hospital for his wife when his daughter was born and now that daughter has a baby. I remember Colleen loved to put a barbie doll in her gift baskets and then came the happy day when she found out she was having a baby girl and now Amanda Fisco is a beautiful young woman I watched grow up. I remember Bunny's son working for me when he was in high school. Now he is a father of 4 and runs the family business. I am so proud of the man, dad, husband and business man he has become. OMG I am getting OLD LOL beautiful memories

I was honored to be the President of the Dumont Chamber of Commerce for many years and enjoyed creating and running many events in town for residents like the street fair and holiday events . I promise Donna Faulborn and JM Boyhen that I will continue to support the food pantry in Dumont. I am always here for whatever you need Donna you are a Rockstar in my book and it was an honor being in business next to yours my first year in Dumont and all the support you gave me. I will never forget that.

Thank you all who supported Baskets-N-Beyond for the past 32 yrs. It's now time to move on to a new location, a new business plan and re branding. A whole new beginning. A little crazy and scary starting over at 61 yrs old. But also very exciting. From a retail store front business to a corporate gift giving business. When I first started consumers loved to walk into stores and shop. There was no online shopping and credit cards where swiped on carbon paper on a funny looking object. How the world has changed. Everybody loves shopping online and you tap and go when using a credit card. I went kicking and screaming into the 21st century. But here we are. Every company small or large orders something for employees when they have a death in the family, have a baby or are sick. This is where 80% of my business comes from. The rest is on my website which gets international and nationwide sales and I ship from NJ and my TX warehouse. So I am going to concentrate more on those areas instead of having a retail store.

So do you have what it takes to spend a few extra dollars to buy an American candle vs a made in China candle??

This is a new project I am working on to support "MADE IN AMERICA " yes it costing me more and less of a profit margin BUT I am willing to support a local woman owned business. This is my 1st project and it's a test to see if consumers are will to spend a little more to buy Quality Made in American items vs Cheaper products Made in China.

I have tired this many times over the 32 yrs I have been in business and it always fails and I have lost alot of money. 1 out of hundred consumers are willing to pay a little more a majority of consumers want cheap products and thats WHY China flourishs

So these are hand poured "SOY" candles. The best quality, best ingredients from a woman who handmade makes each candle herself. She makes any size, any fragrance PLUS give me a pdf of you logo or info you want on the label or wording and she will personalize the candle for you.

These make great party favors, thank you gifts, giveaways at a corporate event, gifts for clients, customers, employee appreciation, teachers or add one Baskets-N-Beyond gift basket. There is a low minimum of 12 all with the personalized label. I already have happy customers who have ordered and re ordered them. I have also ordered them .

Yesterday was a great day. Even though I am home recovering I still process all the orders from my website, emails and texts thru my cell phone. I hardly get orders via the phone maybe get 2 calls a month.

Yesterday I picked up the call and the sweetest voice was on the other end. She wanted to order a birthday basket for her 90 yr old friend she has known since kindergarten. OMG really? That is amazing i said to her. I have a few friends i have known since kindergarten at St. Matthew's and I hope we get to celebrate our 90th birthdays together.

So flo and I continue to talk for over an hour. The most delightful woman. Her parents were from Italian and we talked about our Italian family traditions, the homemade pasta, biscotti and other Italian foods our families made. Homemade wine. If you know me I HATE talking on the phone. I even had to buy my dad a cell phone and teach him how to text me at 80 yrs old. But Flo was so sweet and I made her giggle and smile alot. I am just a big flirt and I loved making her feel special. She just kept telling me i made her feel like a queen. This call Made my day, my week, my month maybe even my year.

I texted her last night to tell her how much I enjoyed talking to her and gave her my cell number so she could reach out again anytime. She just called before she left for the dentist. I hope this friendship continues.

I love when my.customers become my friends. This is why i love my business so much i get to create beautiful gift baskets but also get to meet such wonderful people. For 32 yrs I have been blessed with a wonderful business thst enables me to cross paths with amazing people. I will never stop creating baskets until the day I die. You will be prying a basket out of my cold dead hands lol

Dear Customers

I want you to know I deeply appreciate your business. This is probably the hardest decision I have had to make in 32 yrs of being in business. I have been trying to figure out how to handle these "Tariffs" that my vendors have been passing on to me. As my vendors have been trying to figure out what course to take I also have been trying to figure out how these "Tariffs" that are disrupting my business.

I never charged a covid surcharge or charged my customers a 3.5% for using credit cards. But, at this time with the "Tariffs" and future "Tariffs" looming my hands are tied.

I decided NOT to raise my prices but to ADD a "TARIFF SURCHARGE" as of May 1, 2025 of 20%. This way if the "Tariffs" are rescinded (which I hope) then I can stop charging this surcharge

Thank you again for your business and trusting me to take care of your important gift giving needs. I hope you will continue to use Baskets-n-Beyond and help small local businesses like mine stay in business during this difficult time
