My favorite things about working in a flower shop are taking orders and delivering flowers.

In January I received a call from a soldier who was deployed to Kuwait. His wife was having an exceptionally rough day and he wanted to send her some flowers and let her know she was doing a great job. I gave him a nice discount, thanked him for his service and delivered a substantially upgraded flower arrangement to his wife.

Today, that soldier came to the shop and thanked ME for helping him and his wife that day. I couldn’t help but think it was ME who should be thanking him for HIS sacrifice and HIS service. He presented me with a flag that was flown in Kuwait in January and was signed by the commanding officer.

I can’t even begin to express how moved I was today or how special this gift is.
