NFG was a HUGE part of my life—from
blasting their self titled front to back in the darkrooms at Rochester Institute of Technology to covering them at shows in Rochester, Warped Tour, and Island Lake—among the eight times I’ve seen them spanning four states. I had all their merch, knew all their names, even fashioned screen names around their acronym. They were so relatable; friends out having fun with a very tight budget—who couldn’t relate? Chad was a sweetheart and a teddy bear. A straight edge Christian, father, husband, and huge advocate for local bands and musicians. He was amazingly talented, often playing with many other bands. He was a great songwriter too, and the outpouring of support from all over the scene has been astounding. Chad lived an amazing, albeit short, life and has touched millions of souls wirh his music, generosity, and kindness. He will live on through his music and I will cherish the photos and videos I have of their shows. I’m so glad I got to meet him a few times before he got sick. He truly was a great person, above all else.
