Ecstatic Movement Tribe (EMT) September 1st

Welcome to Boulder’s Weekly Dance Ritual!

This is your invitation to step into a sacred space where movement, connection, and community meet. Together, we co-create a dance experience to uplift ourselves and manifest more community connections, love & joy.

🔹 7:00-8:00 p.m.: Movement Class – A guided, movement-based class to prepare body and soul for the dance floor. This hour focuses on grounding, breath, and connection, setting the tone for an ecstatic journey.
🔹 8:00 p.m.: Opening Circle – Align together as a community before the dance begins.
🔹 8:15-10:00 p.m.: Ecstatic Dance – Let the sound and rhythm move you as we rise and vibe together in a freeform dance experience designed to awaken your inner joy.

Osha orchestrates dynamic dance journeys that honor the body's natural rhythms and desires. With over a decade as a weekly dancer immersed in 5 Rhythms, he has mastered the delicate choreography of collective arousal—understanding that true ecstacy requires patience, buildup, and the exquisite timing of crescendo and release. His sets are a study in ta***ic flow: beginning with whispered invitations that draw dancers into their bodies, then building through undulating waves of world bass, tribal, trap, organica, ethno house, dub and soul. His sets dissolve mental boundaries, creating an energetic container where dancers become the state of flow and ecstasy reveals as our original state, re-membered through the temple of our bodies.

Music played at Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic dance can be very diverse. It requires that the DJ be able to weave together a wide range of styles and tempos. Generally you can expect music in the electronic genres, especially Bass, House, Tribal, EDM, and Trap.

Join us for a magical family friendly fundraiser gathering supporting Rainbow Lightning a non-profit devoted to creating safe, empowering, and nature-centered spaces where children can play, connect, explore, and thrive in community.

This gathering is rooted in the belief that our children deserve spaces filled with creativity, freedom, movement, expression, music, nature, and authentic connection. Together, we come not only to celebrate life and community, but to help nourish future generations.

This year’s theme, Drumming Up the Mycelium, is an invitation to reconnect with the Earth, awaken the ancestral wisdom within us, and remember the invisible threads that bind us all together like the living mycelial networks beneath the forest floor.

Join us for an unforgettable evening and overnight gathering of rhythm, movement, music, prayer, healing, and celebration as we honor the cycles of transformation, death and rebirth, and our sacred connection to the ancestors and the Earth itself.

We invite you to gather around the drum, dance beneath the stars, and co-create a living prayer through movement and sound.

We will begin outside in a large communal circle (or circles) as we drum together upon the Earth and awaken the spirit of the mycelium beneath us.

Bring your drums, rattles, percussion instruments, prayers, songs, and sacred energy as we connect to the heartbeat of our ancestors and the wisdom carried through rhythm.

Lana is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher trained in India, offering a unique blend of Yin, Vinyasa, and Restorative practices.

Her work centers on connective tissue repair and deep nervous system release, guiding the body into stillness so energy can move freely. Through breath, presence, and intuitive awareness, Lana creates a space where movement becomes meditation and inner connection naturally unfolds.

With a strong spiritual foundation, her offerings invite students into a deeper state of embodiment, where the line between yoga and dance begins to dissolve.

🔹(8:15-10pm) Guest DJ :: Cocophony

Cocophony strives to bring unique, immersive experiences with his creations, whether they are based in audio or visual or a combination of the two. Particularly keen to media that acknowledges the duality of our human experience and the grey area that lies upon the thin line between the two sides of the coin (the edge of the coin, if you will), you may hear everything from lofi-horrorcore to ancient future to hip-hop house to drum and bass in any of his mixes. Cacophony means "a harsh discordant mixture of sounds." Cocophony strives to find the beauty within the chaos.

Philana is beyond excited to be bringing a workshop after many years dancing with EMT, to open this incredible live ecstatic dance journey with her friends, Ancient Fusion!

Philana draws from a blend of partner dance and contact improv elements, freshly inspired by the Fundamentals of Cocrea training she will be attending the weekend before (with her dance mentor Wren LaFeet, check out the event on Actualize Earth app😉)

This workshop will bring exercises for connecting in a traditional partner dance frame, with practices of attunment to a partner, finding the rhythm/groove together, and playful conversations with communication through movement and lead/follow dynamics.

And we may try a few little lifts at the end if there’s collective interest! 🕊️

Asheville DJ, songwriter and producer, Noah Proudfoot, blends sacred soundscapes with medicine bass and world music to take dancers on a transformative journey of the heart. Influenced by a love of mantra and meditation, his mixes are carefully curated to amplify presence, embodiment, and expression. Weaving live guitar, vocals, and flute- Each set is a living prayer, designed to open doorways of connection—within the self, with others, and with the earth. With an ear for dynamic flow and a heart attuned to the moment, he crafts experiences that are both deeply grounding and elevating.
