Another five star review

While I was one of the lucky ones that are alive and well to tell about it. Fortunately Asheville Hopper is also a survivor and navigated our toughest year and it is still heartbreaking to remember the pain and suffering my family and friends went through. My family had a generator, food and water supplies with vehicles that were not damaged and a home that was not completely destroyed. We had to leave for 8 weeks as we still had close to $30,000 in damages to our home, appliances and property. Thankfully we had my son in law Jimi here to do the work or it would have been catastrophic in my world. To date our business lost over $100,000 in revenues that would have paid out $70,000 to local independent drivers as well as the $30,000+ in profits we lost… that isn’t much compared to many that lost even more or everytbibg but it will take years to recoup and repay the credit cards and loans… this hurts but we keep moving forward… I want others that were here and part of the rescue and recovery efforts to share their memories and many experiences during this time… the day before, the day of and days, weeks and months following were intense, confusing and heartbreaking.

Proud of Asheville, our Local Ride Service and its independent drivers today! Our local independent drivers and friends delivered two 24 foot trailers full of supplies and dozens of SUV or Minivan loaded with food and supplies for local churches, food banks and individuals during the Rescue efforts and Recovery. Traveling from as far as Charlotte, Atlanta and Chattanooga to pick up supplies from friends, family and acquaintances… Hopper raised thousands of dollars that were redistributed for gas and supplies as well… These local hard working souls did this daily all while being unemployed for 8 weeks and with their own repairs on their cars, homes and relocation efforts… with 50% less rides in the coming Months due moslty to the lack of tourism we are still 20% less than the previous year… You can hire a local independent driver today by reserving a ride on Asheville Hoppers website and continue to help with our recovery. When you need a ride consider using local from a company and individuals that were and always will be in the trenches helping and contributing to the local community not taking away revenues from drivers and patrons to give to the greedy corporate needs elsewhere… to date all we have seen from Uber is less pay for drivers and nothing given back to help them.
