We are selling this 25 lb. Little Giant Power Hammer that's had some modifications and it in excellent running condition. It's one of the nicest, smoothest running machines you'll ever see as the guide is completely adjustable and is adjusted perfectly to prevent any side to side movement at the top and still have no tightness anywhere to create a free moving ram that is not restricted from the inertia it uses to deliver a powerful strike to a workpiece. (see videos) Here's some things we did to this power hammer after taking it in on trade. We replace the main crank shaft with a new long shaft (including a new spider key) that allowed us to move the clutch pulley to the rear. This makes changing belts and adjusting end play a breeze. We turned both the clutch pulley and main faceplate on the lathe, truing them up perfectly to run smoothly and for the possible addition of a strap brake. The arms and crosshead have been shimmed to fit the pins with the proper clearance. The clutch bearing is babbit and in excellent condition with proper clearence. We poured new main babbitt bearings and installed new shims. We removed the sow block and had the dovetail reworked so the new interchangeable die base fit's it perfectly and installed a spacer shim and new key to achieve perfect front to back alignment with the upper die. We installed a new adjustable clutch rod with new clevises. The clutch fork and foot treadle pins have no slop in them whatsoever. both have had copper shims installed. The pitman arm bearing fits the pin with just the right amount of clearance. The we installed the interchangeable die bace in the ram with a new key, and installed a new key in the sow block. We installed a new 1.5 hp Baldor motor on a new motor mount. It's wired for 220V single phase currently, but can be wired for 110V. It will come with both drawing and flat die tops which can be changed by with two allen bolts. The hammer is mounted to a raised metal platform that helps give the hammer more stability and height.
