We are selling this 300 lb. Hay Budden Blacksmith Anvil that was made in Brooklyn, New York. This nice anvil has has a clean wide and flat face with extra clean edges. This post is for all the anvil nuts out there. It's an anvil trademark on a 62 lb. nut. It's the trademark for the Dyson Corp. which was established in 1884. They used huge hammers to forge large nuts like this one. This Big nut is on Ebay this week selling with no reserve. See the listing for all the details. Just search for 62 lb. anvil nut. It’s been two years working on this 25 lb. Little Giant Power hammer and it’s finally starting to getting close to done. I changed the clutch from a center clutch to a rear clutch which required me to install a new long main crank and also replaced the pitman pin with a new one. I installed a new bronze clutch bearing and restored both the clutch fork and foot treadle with oversize pins and am installing grease zirks. We balance the clutch pulley on the lathe if needed. The sow block die bed and dovetails were cleaned up on the mill. The ram toggle link area was totally restored with new inserts welded in. All done matictulessly by my machinist with 30 years plus experience. I’m going to raise the machine 6” to make it a better working height and also make it a stand along machine not needing to be bolted down to the floor (but the wood base will have angle iron mounting brackets to bolt it down if desired. The foot treadle will have an extension on it so you’ll be able to keep both feet on the floor. It will have a brand new brake on it. New main bearings and a new 1.5 hp Baldor motor and new motor mount. The clutch collar groove was cleaned up and trued to the clutch bearing. A new clutch collar with a grease fitting will be installed. I switch out the ram from having toggle links to an old style ram that uses T-links. It a better system I believe and allows spring tension to be adjusted on both sides which has been concluded a better system than the original adjustment in the middle of one arm. The wrap around guide is one one the nicest easy to adjust with no shims required. New interchangeable die bases will be installed that makes changing die tops a breeze. I expect around another 2 months before this machine will be ready to roll out the door, but when it does someone will be very happy with it. Nothing has been done halfway and this machine will last a user for many years. Little Giant prices continue to go up and materials for parts have gone up and the amount of hammers being fully restored is limited. If you want to know more about buying one just get in touch. I’m including two pictures of a 25 new style I’m currently selling that has the wood platform installed to raise the hammer and you can see the treadle extension. This on also has a brake.

This video shows a working strap brake installed on this New Style 25 lb. Little Giant Power Hammer. It's fully adjustable so you can make it work just the way you like it. We bought this power hammer and made a few improvements to it like balancing the clutch pulley and installing a new bronze clutch bearing. The arm pins are all within spec. and like new. The hammer sits on a wooden platform that raises it to nice working height. A treadle attachment has been added so it can be operated with both feet on the floor. We rebuild power hammers and currently have several 25 lb. hammers including new style, transitional style and old style.
