Exciting things got started today! We are so excited to see this front porch transformed and rebuilt to hopefully last 100 more years. This will take place over the next month.

The morning sun feels amazing when sitting on this porch and we can’t wait to share that feeling with you!

Our days for exterior painting are almost over…unless a heat wave comes through! But we’ve made a lot of progress (thanks to all our helpers!) and we’ll finish up in the Spring. We can’t wait to open our doors to you. cafe coming to in 2022!

As we still wait for all our funding to come through for The Alexander House / Tucker&Co. Bakery Cafe project, we are working on doing everything we can complete! It doesn’t cost any money to pull up weeds. Stay tuned to see the next steps in this space’s transformation! This will eventually be an outdoor seating area for our bakery cafe.

Baby step #563. We got our building permit to get started on the second floor apartment and do some exterior work! Hopefully we’ll start having more frequent updates for you as we start putting this place back together.

Yesterday we submitted our plans and building permit for the upstairs apartment of The Alexander House. Very excited to take this next step!

With no outdoor markets for us right now, and social distancing, I have found myself with just a *little* bit of extra time on my hand. I repainted our kitchen cabinets a darker blue (this blue is the blue I wanted the first time around but just couldn’t find). This blue will also be the accent color we use for The Alexander House. I can’t wait to see it.

Each winter season we seem to put just a few more finishing touches on our house. Did you know that when we bought our current we spent 8 months living with my in-laws while we completing renovated the inside of this place? And we did the same to our first home, just seven houses up the same block before this one!

Another sneak peek at the beautiful hardwood floors we are working with in the downstairs of ! Future home of & cafe.

We made progress the past two weeks by hiring someone with a younger back to do a bunch more demo, including removing almost all of the old carpeting and a few toilets!

Fun progress from last week! Tearing up the entire kitchen floor/sub-floor and finding this great hard wood flooring.

Sorry I’m so bad at taking “before” shots. Just trust me that it was some very dated linoleum flooring and these raw hardwoods look much better. Now just to remove all the tiny staples left behind...

Our goal is to re-sand and reseal all the hardwood floors in this house. This kitchen will be extra hard working serving as the production base for Tucker&Co. Granola and serving our cafe customers. We’ll need to make sure we put an extra durable coating on but I can’t wait to work over these beautiful old floors.
