Let’s talk about alterations, specifically on a fitted gown, because there is still some confusion…so let’s chat!

If you’re buying a fitted gown that is fitted through the hip and thighs, we’re going to take 3 measurements when ordering your dress:

Bust, Waist, Hip

Say your measurements fall as such:

Bust - size 6
Waist - size 2
Hip - size 10

We HAVE to order the dress in a size 10 to accommodate the largest measurement. If I don’t order to the largest measurement, the dress will be too small, and will be near impossible to let out

That means, when the dress arrives, it will be big in the bust and very big in the waist and that’s what alterations are for. There is no way around this.

Of course, there is “made to measure” which is made specifically to your measurements, but this is VERY expensive and not what the average bride is buying.

My gowns range from $1500 - $4500 and my gowns are not made to measure, they’re made to order (you order to a specific size)

So if your gown is in the price range of $1500 - $5000 (roughly) please know that your gown is being ordered in 1 size and that is going to be the size that aligns with your larges measurement.

THERE IS NO WRONG CHOICE!

Especially if you’re stuck between 2 gowns you really love, there is no wrong option! You’re looking for a gown that makes you feel your absolute best, and if you happen to find 2 that do the trick, even better!

Just because you’re stuck between 2 dresses doesn’t make one right and one wrong. It means you found more than 1 dress that make you look and feel your best and that’s something to be excited about, not stressed!

I always tell people, if you’re stuck exactly down the middle on 2 dresses, always go with the cheaper one (that’s an easy way to choose)

And if they happen to be the same price, that relax in knowing that either choice is going to be perfect and you literally CANNOT choose wrong…because you love both!
