I don’t think we ever talk about how scary it is to be be a poet. Getting on stage sharing your most intimate feelings with the world, or even for the audience. Having to leave the house not knowing if the poet is going to be good or not, scary thoughts.
Even as a platform, pressure from the poets, wanting to please the audience and satisfy the venue. We be scared to post the flyers sometimes because we don’t know if the event will be a success or not.
But the subject of out last class was remember why you started. And in us doing so. We came to one conclusion we have to keep going.
So October 30th. We are back at Greenroom Social Club for another Something Light But Its Heavy experience.
The life you want may be on the other side of your worst fear. Come overcome those fears with us.
