14 years ago Today First Impression Events was born and honestly, it happened by accident.
For those who haven’t heard this before, I became a decorator while caring for my mom during her cancer journey… Decorating gave me something to look forward to, something beautiful to focus on when life felt heavy…�It helped me escape, even if just for a moment..
One day, while one of our many in patient treatments at Henry Ford Hospital , she tricked me to leave and go register my business name. If you knew me & my mom, you know she NEVER stayed alone in the hospital, I didn’t play that… My motto was we came in together, we’re leaving together… But that day she pushed me toward my purpose…
She arranged for her favorite nurse, Angela, to stay with her after her shift and told me to leave to go downtown and officially register my business name... Now why she picked the coldest & snowy day idk lol but I’m glad she forced me to because just 2½ months later, I lost her so every event I create today carries a piece of her love, strength, and belief in me…
I thank her for that, I also want to say THANK YOU to you all as well…. Thank you for every like, share, booking, tag, referral, and word of encouragement over these 14 years… Because of your support, First Impression Events continues to grow beyond anything I imagined.
