This Tuesday from 7-9pm is the special two-hour Shake Out WDET Fall Fundraiser show! I'll be joined by the legendary Jon Moshier, celebrating his 30th year since starting at WDET. I hope you'll tune in and show your support!

WDET is an increasingly rare thing on the FM dial - an independent, listener-supported station with credible news and incredible music programs. Federal funding no longer supports the station like it did for the past 50 years, so if you value radio that's beholden to listeners and not advertisers, please step up and support the station at www.WDET.org/GIVE

If you donate during the show, not only do I get to read your comments on the air, but you'll be entered into a drawing exclusive to Shake Out supporters. One lucky person will win $350 in gift certificates to seven generous local record shops ($50 to each store). HUGE thanks to the following stores who are participating ( in order I first shopped at them): Solo Records (Royal Oak), Street Corner Music (Oak Park), People's Records (Detroit, Eastern Market), Hello Records (Lincoln Park), Found Sound (Ferndale), Circle Game (Detroit, Brightmoor), Ginkgo Records (Detroit, Corktown).

Tomorrow night at 8pm: It's the 3rd episode of The Shake Out on WDET and also the spring fundraiser. If you want to send some encouragement and support, please consider donating Tuesday during 8-9pm at www.WDET.org/GIVE - Leave a comment and I'll read it on the air!

If you've been listening the station for years, c'mon it's time to throw something in the bucket if you haven't already! I'll be joined by the esteemed Jon Moshier of Modern Music with Jon Moshier, who'll bring a level of professionalism to this fledgling operation. Hope you tune in!

Hear tunes from Detroit’s the Adorables, Jimmy Cliff singing with Stevie Winwood, a reference acetate of a rare soul record, a teenage Dolly Parton, and even a song about I-94. Tuesday 8-9pm on 101.9FM WDET!

Thrilled to announce that my weekly radio show, The Shake Out, is moving to the big leagues. You’ll now be able to hear the show on 101.9 WDET!

It’s an honor and dream to be part of - such an important institution in the city. I’ll be filling the slot previously held by Mike Latulippe’s great show, The Detroit Move. I’ll be joining Mike live on the air this Tuesday, along with some other special guests, for Mike’s sendoff finale. Hope you’ll tune in!

Special thank you is due to the two radio stations that have been broadcasting my weekly show since last spring: in Hamtramck and @99.7villageradio in Elk Rapids. Being asked to do a radio show pushed me into it and helped me realize how much I enjoyed it (and how decades of collecting and researching records was the perfect preparation for radio).

My first show will be Feb 24th. Excited for this new chapter to begin - meet you on the airwaves, Tuesday nights at 8pm on 101.9 WDET!

Thanks to for making me an honorary card carrying member of “the elite” last week (and for asking me to play 45s at their annual kickoff event).
