This is Summer 2026 in 20 slides

This is Jacob, a nurse at Henry Ford Hospital who loves Movement’s Detroit stage just as much as I do. He randomly sat next to me, introduced himself, even offered me a piece of cake. As we watched Whodat.... and Keith Worthy’s (incredible) Movement sets, he began to tell me about all his favorite sets from the weekend. “I saw Joshua Turner at the Detroit stage last year and knew I had to see him again! And I saw ✌🏾💙🩵🤘🏾🌀 last night - AMAZING! A new favorite!” Of course, I’m shook. “Um… Uh…. Do you know you’re talking to me?” “NO WAY! You had on a hat last night so I couldn’t tell it’s you! Can we take a picture?” ….And here we are. Thank you for being my favorite interaction during Movement weekend, Jacob 💙🩵💙🩵

Photographer bailed. Rain ruined my outfit plans. My best friend’s mom was in the hospital and we couldn’t be there for each other. DJ before me played a closing track as if they were headlining 🥴 But, as I was leaving the stage after my set, a group of girls stopped me to thank me for “playing music that had soul,” and that outweighed (nearly) everything that went wrong before, because it reminded me that 1-I’m not doing this in vain, and 2-MY people will always find me. They also asked me for one of the tracks I played in this clip. I proudly told them, “DEMF Anthem.” I’ve only been booked for Movement twice so far, but I have and will always plan my set around a K-Hand track, because I never want anyone who knows me to not know who she is.

Shout out to Milan Ariel Atkins and Metroplex for sheltering me from the rain 😭💙

Multiple generations of GhettoTech DJs + Producers unite at The Lincoln Factory to kickstart a series that highlights the very best of Detroit. Despite the rise in “GhettoTech” parties, you don’t (and won’t) see many lineups like this one, because this kind of curation is authentic and intentional- a means to celebrate emerging talent while honoring those who lead the way before “us.”

This one is for all the kids who had to stay upstairs or inside the house while the grown ups were in the basement or the backyard with the bass booming so loud that you could feel it. For all the kids who got in the car just in time to hear Gary Chandler or Dj Fingers 313. For all the kids who fell in love with this s**t without needing drugs or alcohol to enjoy it. For all the kids who promised themselves that they would go to a party like this one day…. Even if that’s only me!

Also, my birthday will be at midnight. Imagine not being there!
