Yesterday I kicked off a brand new four-week course called Art Explorers! These adventurous gals are regulars at the studio and they jumped in full force with their assignment yesterday, which was rooted in observation.
Learning to acutely observe and analyze the world around us is critical in making art! 🖼️

We painted quirky Minnesota landmarks today at Elevate! Minnesota is packed full of strange curiosities, so there was no shortage of ideas of what to paint.
Thanks, ladies, for bringing your creative spirit and talent! ❤️🤍❤️

Today was the Project 412 + City of Detroit Lakes Arts & Culture Commission + Lakeshirts Art on a Stick ribbon cutting at Long Lake Park!

It was wonderful to see a few of the installations (more are featured at at other parks in Detroit Lakes) including those of studio regulars Lib Evans and Tracy Warnke! Another one of the frequent guests at the studio is Deb Shuga, whose art was selected for the installation by City Park (next to the baseball diamond) and she was with us today.

We did a photo with these artists, along with Pam Kruger and Faith Berg, two more artists who spend many hours painting and crafting here!

What a gorgeous autumn day to celebrate community and creativity! Here’s to art (and playing on the swings while everyone else has adult conversations)! 🥳🥳🥳
