Yesterday was a fantastic day for the 1st Annual Fountain City Classic!

Our festival featured a parade along Main Street and a field competition at our incredible, newly renovated facilities at J.C. Culwell Stadium here at De Soto High School.

The Fountain City Classic also included a College and Career Fair with representatives sharing information on postsecondary options in music. It was fantastic to see so many students learning about opportunities to continue to make music after high school!

Our 1st Annual Fountain City Classic Marching Invitational is this weekend!

We hope you can come out and support the Dragon Pride as well as our participating bands. The parade portion will step off at 8am and run from Plaza Square to the De Soto Public Library. After the parade, we will have representatives from colleges and universities in J.C. Culwell Stadium to talk with students and families about opportunities in music after high school.

The field show portion of the competition will begin at 11am. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. We hope to see you there!

We are gearing up for our 1st Annual Fountain City Classic on September 27th, 2025!

We will have a Parent/Volunteer meeting on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6pm in the DHS Band Room to go over final preparations for the event. We are looking for additional volunteers, and would love to have some of our fantastic alums come back and show their Dragon Pride.

Due to the forecasted scattered thunderstorms, today's Community Preview will be held inside at the DHS Auditorium. Doors will open at 5:30pm with the presentation beginning at 6pm.

Color Guard Flag Show Reveal!!!

For every $100 the De Soto Color Guard raises, we will reveal a portion of our Performance Flags. Below is our first two reveals.

De Soto Bands Color Guard is running a Fill-in-the-Block fundraising drive from 7/28-8/1. Whether it's $1, $5, $20, or more, every contribution will bring us closer to reaching our goal. Don’t have cash, you can use our donation link below. We’re raising funds for essential items like new guard equipment, uniforms, and student costs to ensure every performer has what they need to succeed. Each piece of equipment for this group costs on average about $50, with 3-5 pieces of equipment per person per year.

Our Color Guard is a part of the Dragon Pride Marching Band. This group adds to the visual aspect of the Bands performance and is scored at competitions. Each piece of equipment for this group costs on average about $50, with 3-5 pieces of equipment per person per year.

After spending two weeks at the Missouri Fine Arts Academy in Springfield, junior Gabriel Serra spent this past week at the Dave Dickey Big Band Camp learning from some giants in the field of Jazz.

Gabe said, "My time at the Dave Dickey Big Band Camp was an amazing experience. It was amazing that I was able to learn from some of the top players in the country. I was also so inspired by all the talented and simply brilliant musicians my age." We are incredibly proud of Gabe for his hard work and commitment to continue putting in the work!
