Every now and then, a client says “COLOR, please!” and I’m out here like “Heck YES, arrest me for loving this!” 🎨✨

This grandma-chic, garden-party-core, dinner-so-pretty-it-should-have-its-own-passport moment was a total dream. Between the vintage china, the bold hues, and the charming little details, I swear I left the country for a sec. 🌺🍽️

So… who’s hosting the next dinner party? Because my RSVP is already YES 💌👀

I still can’t believe I’ve had the joy (and literal confetti) of being part of so many magical moments. Pretty sure I’ve landed the dreamiest job in the universe! 🖤

I know I know, I don’t call, I don’t write… your girl has been busy. Having another baby, moving to another state, and exploring an entire new local industry is A LOT!

Tbh, I wasn’t sure if there would even be a Sloane & Ko in Des Moines 🤷‍♀️ I’ve never known an industry outside of KC, but I was recently reminded that the city I was in didn’t make me the planner I was, it was the relationships I built & the heartfelt talent I provided within my services…

Well KC, where do I start? I guess with the tale old phrase: It’s not you, it’s me.

Two years ago when I opened the doors to Sloane & Ko I was just entering my first months of motherhood. A new baby, a new business, and a lot to learn. In the last two years I have had the honor of being a part of over 30 biggest days of your lives - a privilege I have never taken lightly 🤍

Along with a growing business, our family has been growing as well! With our newest member making her arrival any day now, we had been praying for an opportunity to be reunited with our village back home to raise these sweet sisters around — and our prayers were answered!

The Staggs family will be relocating to Iowa this fall 🤍

So what does this mean for Sloane & Ko? Nothing for my sweet couples that remain this year! We will still celebrate their special days together just as active & attentively 🫶🏼 but after the conclusion of this year, Sloane & Ko will no longer be taking on events in Kansas City.

It’s bittersweet- believe me!! This industry has become my family the last 6 years; and I have built lifelong relationships from it! AND have no fear KC, because you are being left in the hands of the most unique, incredible, and creative industry FULL of talented vendor teams! I have absolutely no doubt that you have endless incomparable planners to take on your big days! ✨

Thank you for entrusting me with all that you have the last two years, let’s finish this year with a BANG 🧨❤️‍🔥🔥

Let’s take a poll: how many times have you watched the series “The Summer I Turned Pretty”? If you’re anything like me, it’s not just once or twice!

I was convinced I needed a beach house on Cousins beach to raise my babies after watching. The warm homey feeling that you were left with watching their memories on that beach was something that stuck with me long after the show.

When I was approached to do a shoot at on the water, my inspiration jumped RIGHT to Cousins, and that is where “Cousins Haus” my latest styled shoot was born!

It has been a bucket list shoot to not only shoot by water, but to challenge myself to a destination shoot! I absolutely could not have done it without the dream team of vendors that shared their talents with the world for this shoot!

We brainstormed, planned, designed, implemented, laughed, laughed, cried from laughing, and shot for FOURTEEN hours — and I’m truly still on cloud nine that I get to call this “work”!

One of my favorite parts about my job is witnessing the love between my couples 🥹💛

Although Paige & Blake were happily married already, the moments caught between them at this shoot were as if they were experiencing their first moments as husband and wife ✨

I endlessly pray that every single one of my couples still look at each other the way these two do every single day 😍

It’s that time of year again — the proposals have popped, and you are ready to begin booking your dream team of vendors — so let me be the one to give you the friendly reminder that vendors are humans too 💕 we feel a full spectrum of human emotion just like everyone else, and our feelings get hurt when we are left in the dust!

When I do my consults with potential clients, this is a two-way consult. I am interviewing them just as they are interviewing me — sometimes things just aren’t the BEST fit, and guess what? GOOD 👏🏼 I want to hear no thank you sometimes; because I absolutely understand that my services are not best aligned with every single couple!

But don’t miss the key part in that: hearing no thank you! 🫶🏼

Please please please, if you inquire with, have a consult with, or simply any interaction with a vendor’s services, PLEASE also have the decency to let them kindly know if you go in a different direction! 🖤

We get it 👏🏼👏🏼 We don’t get never hearing from you again!

It’s not a break-up, we don’t need a full on speech hehe! A simple “we have decided to move in a different direction, thank you for your time” is PERFECT! 🤩

That’s all 🖤 just been on my heart as I have experienced it, and I have been chatting with friendors who have been experiencing it as well! I love my people - your KC wedding vendors are unlike anyone else - and I simply want them treated as amazing as they are 🥰

Mr. & Mrs. Sloane & Ko made it out to celebrate my favorite night of the year — the .kansascity vendor choice awards gala ✨🤩🤍🥂

This is such a special night, because it is a night that celebrates all of the magic that each and every vendor creates together for each and every event!! ✨

I say it a lot, but that’s because it is truly THAT special of a thing that we are able to celebrate community over competition each and every day! This community collaborates, supports, and grows TOGETHER endlessly - and it’s just really really freaking special!

Tonight is a night where we get to celebrate that, celebrate events, and celebrate each other 💛

Congratulations to all of the nominees, finalists, and winners 🥂 You all are the reason that I love what I do so insanely much 🫶🏼

Having over NINE HUNDRED vendors in one room for the night, celebrating community over competition, and truly enjoying each other’s company is something SO unique to KC - and one of my favorite parts about it 💛

That is an honor that I do not take lightly, and truthfully a dream come true — that I still cannot believe I get to do! 🤍

I have learned SO much in my first year as a business owner, and it has only prepared me to be an even better owner, boss, co-worker, friendor, and planner in the coming year 🫶🏼
