Yesterday marks the one-year anniversary of our compass rose! We hand-painted it in a single day after spending all week cleaning and staining the floors, and we’re just thrilled at how it came out! We can’t believe it has already been a whole year since we finished the floor and started our move-in process in earnest! Here’s to many more years to come! 🥂

Artist showcase time!
I know, it's been a minute since we did one of these, and this one is WAY overdue! But feast your eyes on these fine GIGANTIC cocktail swords - in case you should encounter any giant killer olives on your travels (these swords are their only known weakness! 🤣)
Made by the incomparable Keith Crofton of - a fantastically talented artist, and an all-around great guy! Each sword is molded and cast by hand in clear resin, to show off the unique contents, including gorgeous patterned fabric, vintage tiki swizzles, and yes - even regular-sized cocktail swords! Every piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art!..

Then on May 17th, come check out the first ever fantasy costume night at the incredible new mead hall on Colfax in Denver, Carw Gwyn! And beforehand, don't forget to come get outfitted at The Map’s Edge: an Adventurers’ Emporium! We have costumes, accessories, mugs and goblets, games, and plenty of other fun accoutrements for your fantasy adventure!

Attention all elves and fae, rangers and knights, pirates, princes and princesses – Carw Gwyn is pleased to announce its first official Fantasy Costume Night on Sunday, May 17th!

Whether you’re a long-time costumer, live-action role-player, historical reenactor, original character creator, or preparing for your first renaissance faire, join like-minded souls to make friends, exchange ideas, and bring your fantasy character to life in Denver’s most evocative setting!

And as a special offering, listen to live hurdy-gurdy music on the Carw Gwyn stage from 4:00-6:00pm while enjoying a wide selection of craft meads, specialty cocktails, beers, whiskies and old-world meals!

To be fair, it's not so much that we can't get to the shop; it's more of a celebration of the fact that we FINALLY got some real snow. Sorry if you have braved the weather today just to come see us, but darnit, I think we deserve one snow day this year. 😅

Heads-up! We will be closing early (4:00 PM) on Saturday, February 28th, to vend at Tor2uga - put on by the and hosted by ! Come see us there, where you can live your best pirate life, enjoy some grog, good company, and entertainment, and of course, peruse our fine wares! We will return to normal operating hour on Sunday, March 1st!
